As a big Trinity fan myself (yes I said it) I think that is a fantastic Top 3.

Anyone else agree or Disagree?

That is a good honorable mention list for top 3 basketball players at T!

Might also consider Keith Calvin, Jim Campbell, Carwell Gardner.

Are we forgetting Alan Hennessey?

Anthony Wadja was game changer at Safety. Had a nice career at UK too.

No Jeff Brohm?

Man this is tough.... :idunno:

While Shaun Johnson was amazing, I have to believe 1988 Jeff Brohm, 1982 (I think)Carwell Gardner, 1982 (I think)Mike Pfieffer or 1982 (I think)Andy Murry may nudge him out. The problem is, I cannot decide which of those guys deserves that spot. That 1982 (I think) team is one of those where you scratch your head and try to figure out how they did not win state.

There are probably guys from the 60's and 70's who also deserve consideration but I never saw any of them play.

You gave a statement of the problem, give us the solution?

That McBroom kid made them better than they were when he was on the field.

Go ask one of the older posters who have been watching Trinity far longer than I have :)

On a more serious note, I probalby would substitute Jeff Brohm for Shaun Johnson and that is to take NOTHING away from Shaun. Jeff was similar to Brian in that he had incredible game changing ability. As far as Gardner, Pfeiffer and Murry, I was so young that I really don't remember them that well so I really cannot give a better educated statement. If LSURock was still with us, he could probably give an amazing breakdown and analysis of all the players mentioned.

My top 3 in no order

-Alan Hennessey (just based off of stories)

-Jeff Brohm (the best athlete of all the Brohm boys. Had he been in Beatty's offense i think he would have been even better than he was.)

-James Quick (no explanation)

I thought of another one that I need throw in, Steve Raible. He went on to play or Georgia Tech and then I think the Seatle Seahawks. Around his time frame, several Trinity players went on to play for GeorgiaTech Steve played in the famous "Rudy" game where Rudy went in for the last few plays for Notre Dame against Georgia Tech. If you go on You Tube, you will hear Steve Raible's name called out by the announcer.

From among players I've personally seen play (really only remember the mid-to-late-90s through the present):

1) Brian Brohm

2) James Quick

3) Will Stein (not the most natural choice and certainly not among the greatest athletes, but he did nothing except pepper the field with perfectly accurate passes from day one)

It would be difficult to make a top 10 list for Trinity, much less a top 3. But I would say:

1. James Quick

2. Brian Brohm

3. Alan Hennessey

I think Raible is the radio man for the Seahawks.
