The Panthers and Coach Miller advance to the semi-finals of the State tourney.

Tough loss Tigers. Thanks for a great season.

Ouch...I thought X was going to have a coming out party against PRP after the near loss scare from Logan Cty the other nite.

Anyone got a good game summary they would like to share with details?

Hasn't this PRP coach won like 13000 games in his coaching career? Just sayin...

St. X could have won if they had not made so many baserunning mistakes. 2 runners picked off 2nd base (1 in the 7th inning) and a runner thrown out going from 1st to 3rd on a single to left field also in the 7th inning. Bill Miller of PRP has 1013 wins now if I am not mistaken. I really liked his pre game statement about St. X. When Gary Ball asked him about the good run St. X was having making it to 3 straight State Tournaments, Coach Millers response was something like, (Well, with all the good athletes they run through that school if the Coach can't take them to the State Tournament every year they should be fired.) LOL

Wasn't a fan of Miller when I played against him. Nothing has changed. He needs to look at the strength of the 6th Region year in and year out before commenting on anything.

It all goes back to the Private School verses Public School thing. But from what I have heard from some reliable sources PRP has ended up with some players that should have been at Butler in years past. Gary Ball didn't even acknowledge the comment, but Doug Flynn did bring it up once during the game. You may not like Miller or Harrison County Coach Mac Whitaker, but you do have to admit that they are winners!

Played both teams this season and I thought PRP was the better team of the two teams.

Congrats to St. X on a great season and good luck to PRP.

Butler does not even have a district. They are application only to get a student into the school..like Male and Manual. PRP has a district and has to accept every student that lives in their district.

Numbers can be misleading.... In the 2 games between the teams this year X had 14 total runs and PRP had 3. PRP was the better team yesterday.

PRP is always tough and at the end of the day they made fewer mistakes.

X mental mistakes killed any chance of winning.

3rd base forgetting to cover third after charging to cover a sac bunt that went to the first base side, allowing the runner on first to reach 3rd.

getting picked off at second early in the game(after the first attempt where he just beat the tag back to second) killing any early scoring chances

relief pitcher hitting 2 guys in the 6th inning

getting picked off at first by the CATCHER in the TOP of the 7th DOWN 2 runs with 0 outs

runner trying to advance from first to third on a single to LEFT FIELD DOWN 1 run for out #2

while X has talent, I question their baseball awareness, which falls on the coaching staff.

congrats to PRP

Absolutely too many mental errors, players and coaches, at that level of game

Pleasure Ridge Park has had a heck of a year in boys sports----6A state runner-up in football, 6th Region champ in basketball and now state finalist in baseball.

Has nothing to do with private v. public. I will generally pull for a JCPS when playing out of county teams. I have had friends coach in JCPS. I just am not enamorred with PRP baseball. Good kids, I am sure, by the way. Nothing would lead me to think otherwise.

Tigers lost the game in the first inning they had men on first and second with no out and had the man on 2nd picked off way too many mental errors to win against a top team.
