Things are getting really interesting in the 57th. With Johnson Central losing to Lawrence County, the standings have reallt tightened up. IMO, the most important game thus far in determining the final seeds takes place on February 3 when Sheldon Clark visits Lawrence County. If Lawrence County wins they have a really good shot at the number three seed in the district. They have already finished their season series with both Paintsville and Johnson Central while Sheldon Clark plays Paintsville one more time on Feb 10. Also, if things fall in Lawrence County's favor they could end up as high as the number two seed. They hold wins over Paintsville and Johnson Central. So, if LCHS defeats Sheldon Clark, which ever team loses the next meeting will be tied with Lawrence County. And, I believe in that case the seeding is determined by a coin flip.
Sheldon Clark is also in a nice position. If the Cards defeat Lawrence County a three-way tie will exist at the top of the district. Plus, Sheldon Clark also has one game left with Paintsville at home. If they were to pick up that win as well, things would really get interesting.
I know it's still early but the LCHS win over JCHS got me thinking.
