I know having 2 colleges in Ky that have wrestling will help getting new coaches out there.

Several teams do go to Ohio to wrestle. I am pretty sure most of the Northern KY schools do. Ky is getting better, but it will be awhile before we see a KY team ranked in the Nation. Ky has just had a middle school association for wrestling about 10 years or less and youth programs are starting to grow. This is a basketball state and I have known kids who would sit on the end of the bench than start for the wrestling team.

Keep us updated on the any news you hear about Breathitts wrestling program in the future (good or bad).

Two weeks ago I was in for a wedding and saw JC's field for the first time. Very nice and I also walked around the area. I saw the new locker room( I guess that s what it was) and was wondering about the new stands that will go up. How big will the stands be on the home side and are they going to be concrete?

Prayers go out to this young man's family and anyone one close to the people involved.

I wish these 2 could play earlier, that is a tough game to have before the playoffs.

The reason I stated this, is because I have seen some head coaches who are still coaching in the state refuse to let their players join the wrestling program. If the football staff supports the wrestling program it can flourish. With that being said, I wish Breathitt the best of luck!:thumb:

Glad to hear another mountain school adding a wrestling program. I hope the football coaching staff understands how this could benefit their players.

If football staff does not support the program, it will have a hard time surviving. Sounds great that it is going to get approved, I love hearing new teams pop up around the state. Do they have someone who will coach the team?

Sadly, I believe you are right. Some states like Texas has female high school wrestling and Cumberland College has a womens team. The sport is growing but at a slow rate.

I watched Beasley up close at the KY Bank shootout his JR year and was very impressed.
