  1. They are too talented not to. But the OL is rough, and while you could argue the defense held up today, this wasn't exactly the '07 Patriots they were playing. 1-0 with a favorable schedule out of the gate. I like it.
  2. That's the Herbert all the nerds say he is (despite being just over .500 now for his career). Dude balled out. For KC, I'm not sure how you can keep playing Jawaan Taylor at tackle. Dude is a walking penalty that could have been flagged 10 more times than the 4 flags he received. He single-handedly killed multiple drives. I would also be concerned with how KC performed up front on defense. Credit to Herbert, but unless the Chiefs blitzed, Herbert had all day. This comes after LAC lost one of the best OT's in the NFL two weeks ago.
  3. I see you, A-Rodg. Not sure how long he keeps this up, but I'm impressed.
  4. Absolutely. Where I’d be alarmed is that by most standards, the Bengals played with purpose in the preseason to avoid looking lethargic out of the gate. Yet, here we are…
  5. A terrible win is better than a good loss, any day of the week. But if I’m a Bengals fan, I’m not sure how great I would feel given Cleveland is regarded as one of, if not the worst team in the league. Definitely a game you would say Cleveland lost, not a Cincinnati win.

  7. Here are the results for this week's Pick 5 contest. As always, the results won't be final for 24 hours. All contestants should use that time to check their score for errors. After that time period has passed, the contest is final and the winner should contact @theguru to collect your prize. If you think your score is incorrect, please send me a PM and I will look into your claim. NOBODY! Way to go, everyone! With over 60 entries, nobody managed to go 5 for 5, nor did anyone guess the combined total of the Pikeville/Raceland game correctly. We're so back! As a reminder, since nobody won this week's contest, $100 is added to the grand prize for the season-long contest.
  8. McDaniels showing why he is in top contention for the “First Coach Fired in Midseason” award!
  9. I can’t remember the specifics, but Hanson had to change his messaging last year. He caught flack for saying “7 hours commercial free…” then there was a dual-box commercial (similar to what is being promoted today) that ran during Red Zone. As long as it is extremely limited, it’s not going to impact my enjoyment. Hanson seems like an awesome dude and for my money Red Zone is the best live telecast you can find.

  13. How in the heck did replay miss that?
  14. I agree. I didn’t feel like I watching vaunted defenses, either. Rather, poor offensive execution, especially by Arch. Had he been 25% of the hype, Texas wins going away. Why in the hell was he continually throwing the football like a Randy Johnson pitch?
  15. Last week, momentum started building that Parsons probably wouldn’t be on the Cowboys’ roster come opening day. I still thought a last-minute deal would get done, but it looks like the bridge was burned beyond repair. Trades like this are incredibly rare, which is why I assumed he’d stay in Dallas. I’m stunned at how this played out.
  16. I think it is a little bit of both. The TV setup inside the stadium is negotiated as part of the Fox agreement. I could see where it was "negotiated" that he would not be part of that segment and it fell apart from there.

  21. The liberal use of the words underrated/overrated in sports might be my greatest pet peeve. I genuinely do not know if people understand what the terms mean.
  22. The NFL will still own and produce RedZone.
  23. The biggest part of this deal is that the NFL will own a 10% stake in ESPN.
  24. Yes and no. From the business side, these teams drag these deals out as long as they can since players are one bad step away from ending their careers. And also from the team's perspective, they sign him a year ago, the market has already been reset, making Parsons underpaid, then he is that much closer to wanting to re-negotiate again. Not saying you are wrong, btw. But I get why it happens like it does.
