The chink in Belfry's armor this year has been interior run defense. Guess who has the perfect team/scheme to exploit that? JC To beat Belfry, the Golden Eagles are going to have to win that battle between the tackles when they have the ball. Belfry stepped up and played really well against Cabell Midland, the other team on the schedule that fits the same mold, so who knows. The big key in this one from my perspective will be turnovers. The winner will have to win that part of the game to have a shot, IMO.

Ha. Busy week. This game is one of those rivalry games that you never really can predict what will happen. Some years it is a tight battle, some years these two are a little further apart. I guess that is the way it goes with rivalries. Last year was a classic game, like a heavyweight bout. Belfry came out on top 21-16, but JC very well could have won it. Both teams went full-tilt for 4 quarters and then went on to mow down their playoff opponents on the way to championships. Two years ago we all expected the same kind of game, but JC come to Pond Creek and laid an egg. They came in undefeated, but were missing some injured starters, and were fresh off a close call with Ashland. Belfry jumped on them early and often and won in a running clock game 41-0. Nobody was more surprised than the Pirate faithful.

I can't speak for anyone else but for Belfry it has been good overall, I think, playing Johnson Central the last week. Belfrys last couple games games have been blowouts and typically the first couple playoff games have been as well. Having an opponent like JC will test them and make them play 4 quarters. Win or lose, that will help them prepare for the later rounds of the playoffs.

Everything is the same as we discussed earlier. Belfy should host the first two rounds and then travel to Louisville to play Central in the third round if all things go as chalk. If they win that one they will almost certainly host Corbin in the semifinals. We we just don't know all the slots yet until all the districts are settled. That should be complete this week except for 3 way tie breakers. Gotta take them one one at a time of course but it's ok for us fans to look ahead right? :thumb:

Sheldon Clark is not going to make the playoffs, Floyd Central will be that 4th team in Belfry's district. Otherwise, I think Jim has it all lined out there. Another really interesting playoff alignment in 3A is Russell/Flemings district matches up with Boyle Co/Lexington Catholic's district.

I have a lot of good friends on BGP, some that I have never met. This is a special place, for sure.

3A District 6 Belfry (3-0) at Pike Central (2-1) Floyd Central (1-2) at Lawrence Co (2-1) Sheldon Clark (0-4) is out Belfry should beat Pike Central and win the district and Lawrence should beat Floyd Central for the 2 seed If Pike Central upsets Belfry, and Lawrence beats Floyd Central, then Belfry, Lawrence and Pike Central will be tied for 1st place. If Belfry wins and Lawrence loses, then Lawrence, Pike Central and Floyd Central could end in a 3 way tie for 2nd place

I understand there will be options to buy tickets with access to the Woodford Reserve Club level for the finals and also the Field Club below it if you want that option. I know the Field Club doesn't have a field view, meaning you have to sit outside to watch the action. I have heard the Woodford Reserve Club does have a field view from indoors. If any of you have watched a UK game from that club, can you see the field from indoors or do you have to be outside?
