  1. Absolutely it should be announced. It is a part of the game that should be addressed publicly to the crowd. No different that describing a penalty call or a touchdown.
  2. Coach Mickey's best line of the night was his description of Wellman as "a D9 in a helmet" :lol2:
  3. 6 Class format; Belfry and Central's playoff records by venue. Central Home: 31-2 Road: 6-1 Neutral: 5-2 (State Championship) (4-2 against Belfry) Belfry Home: 32-2 Road: 6-0 Neutral: 4-4 (State Champioinship) (2-4 against Central) Belfry's last road playoff loss: 2005 at Russell Central's last home playoff loss: 2015 to Lexington Catholic
  4. Good Grief :ohbrother: For the record, my pick was Glasgow. I copied/pasted the games and as I make my picks, I erase the team I don't want. I guess I didn't get it all when I erased NCC.
  5. 3 if you count the 2 state championship game losses to us . Only one true true road loss though, you are right.
  6. Come on, LOL. Belfry should still show up and at least try. I tried to tell you Belfry would be vulnerable to a mobile QB who can scramble. Brents was a load to try and contain, Waggener just didn't have the defense to stop Belfry.
  7. I wasn't making a case either way, VOR, and I didn't give my opinion. Just running numbers and pointing out 25% considerably greater than 10%. :thumb:
  8. In 1998 and 2006 there were only 32 round 2 games also. 8/32 = 25% 5/48 = 10% I think that is a significant difference
  9. That's an understatement. Since the change to 6 classes in 2007, Central has only lost 2 playoff games at home. To Wayne Co in 2013 and to Lexington Catholic in 2015.
  10. It is always fun when these two match up. It has always been on a neutral site for all the marbles, but this time it will be on Central's turf. How much will the home field advantage affect the game?
  11. Waggener played Brents at WR the bulk of the game, especially eary, and didn't get the ball in his hands near enough. They finally put him back at QB and he was really fun to watch. I'd hate to try and defend him, he's just so elusive. The RB Johnson and the QB Sickles are ball players too. They are about as explosive a trio as you could hope to watch. The Pirates interior run D has been a bit of an issue all season. Against heavy run teams they have been able to shore it up, but with a dual threat team that spread you out, they have given up some yardage, and some points. They may just have to outscore people from here on out. I can't say enough about the offensive line. Those guys are getting it done and have exceeded expectations all season. Kudos. A great win tonight and now on to Central. I hope Wellman's injury isn't very serious, I'd hate to see that kid's season cut short.
  12. Is there anything better, or more automatic, than a Belfry and Central matchup in the playoffs? Well maybe if it is a championship game instead of a regional finals game. The Pirates and Yellowjackets meet for the 7th time in 11 years. Central won the first 4 meetings and Belfry has won the last 2. Who who wins this one?
  13. Powell stopped Casey at the 2 Powell 44, Casey 41
  14. Great point. It is perpetual. We may not win this year, or ever again. This is still a fun shirt.
  15. For the record, I am still wearing the same old polo. I just couldn't retire it. The MOJO is too strong. LOL
  16. From what I read on BGP, I don't think anyone thought Coach Weinrich was mad at South Oldham. The overwhelming opinion was that it was a petty and weak response, especially from a program like Highlands. Your clarification is appreciated, but I don't read anything in it that changes that sentiment at all. What am I missing?
  17. Raceland South Warren McCracken County Doss Mercer County Tates Creek Glasgow Catholic North Laurel Highlands Knox Central 48
  18. Good luck to the Hawks of LaRue Co, keep on pounding. Hope you bring home the Jaggers Family Reuinion trophy.
  19. I used to hunt Ohio all the time. Mostly bow hunting but I had a Remington 1100 20 ga that I gun hunted with. Gun season in southern OH was a trip. Not too bad opening day but then the truckloads of deer drivers would come through and it was Katy bar the door.
  20. Looks like we are all typing at the same time
  21. It is a statistical combination of a bunch of different criteria wrapped up in a final power ranking. I'm not sure there is an correlation to points on the field. Look at these QB ratings. Does it mean that Deshaun Watson is responsible for 10 points more per game than Carson Wentz on the scoreboard? If not then what do those numbers mean?
  22. Based on what I read before about the Lit ratings, they aren't meant to be point differential. You are making a common, yet incorrect assumption. And yeah, this.
