Louisville shootings - how bad is it?
I believe there should have been a large investment in police to pay for more/better training, more officers and "better" officers to stop the hiring of the bad apples we have due to the poor pay of LMPD. Instead, most think the answer was to defund, I think defund is an incredibly stupid idea

Louisville shootings - how bad is it?
There are many in Louisville who hold your same opinion. Back before the 90s, a large percentage of subsidized housing was concentrated in a few areas. Police would concentrate patrols in those areas and do a decent job of keeping order in them. In the 90s it was decided if subsidized housing was more dispersed throughout the city, those in subsidized housing would integrate in those neighborhoods and commit less crime. It sounded like a reasonable idea I guess but instead it created numerous "hot spots" instead of just a few and police are spread so thin trying to patrol all of them.

A terrible shortage. Some nights, the backlog of issues police need to address gets scary long.

Louisville shootings - how bad is it?
I would say there are several reasons. Police numbers are way down from record police resignations and early retirements in the past year for a police department that was already too small when compared to cities similar size to Louisville. The view of many LMPD officers is that they are past not being appreciated by Louisville citizenry and leadership and are being outright villified. In the 5 to 10 neighbors I mentioned, the "No Snitch!!!" mentality is very strong so gangs feel they can kill with impunity. Untill that mentality changes, the bodies will keep piling up. Geographically, Louisville is in the perfect location to be a major hub or crossroads in the drug trade. That means alot of cartel members are passing through and each are fighting to increase their turf and they tend to operate in these mentioned neighborhoods.

Louisville shootings - how bad is it?
Duece summed it up pretty well. There are about 5 to 10 neighborhoods in Louisville where if you threw out the murders (or crime in general) in those neighborhoods, Louisville would probably be among the safest cities in the country. I try to make a point of staying out of those neighborhoods and pretty safe in Louisville.

Tennessee Fans at end of Ole Miss Game
I get that alcohol will still work its way into the stadium, but you would have to think less consumption would be going on than if it were sold at the concession stands. Also, I look at this just as much a punishment. Punishment for the fan base as it is an inconvenience and punishment for the school in that alcohol sales a huge profit generators and may entice the schools to put more security in the stands to dissuade such behavior.

Another punishment would be to ban alcohol sales at the next game.

I was thinking about loss of scholarships but forfeiture of home games would be a better idea.

Kentucky 42 LSU 21
I am hoping we are past the point where getting a sixth win makes our season, LOL. At least as long as UK can hold on to Stoops, Coen, White and Marrow. This season, I think it is very unlikely UK falls under the New Years Bowl games. I say this assuming UK doesn't forget how to pass again like during the Chattanooga and South Carolina games. UK should be able to lose two games and still get a New Years Bowl.
