6A #1 Trinity vs. Carmel (IN)
Depends on how quickly the new QB adapts to varsity. But I will give credit to OC Coach Coverdale, he does a fantastic job grooming his QBs.

Multi Sport State Champs in same year
My guess St. X has several years with three or more state titless. Along with being competitive in football, St. X wins state titles here and there in baseball, soccer, golf, tennis, wrestling and the Xavierans pretty much own swimming. I have to think there have been years with 3 States. Where is Oxnard when you need him? He would know this off memory.

- Nov 2nd Louisville Power Rankings
1. Trinity (10-0) – Trinity sat idle this week but will remain at the top of the rankings. T's first round opponent is winless Seneca, will not be pretty. 2. St. Xavier (8-2) – St. X falls short of being Cincy St. X. They will now face Manual in the first round. 3. Male (8-2) – Male was also idle but retains the 3rd place spot. The Bulldogs will be heavily favored versus Connor in the first round of the playoffs. 4. DeSales (10-0) – DeSales finishes with a perfect season with a win over Southern. The Colts will be heavily favored over Gallatin Co.. 5. Pleasure Ridge Park (6-4) – PRP was hoping for a win to recover from their Scott Co. loss but Central had other plans dropping PRP one spot. The Panthers will now face Cooper and are favored. 6. Christian Academy of Louisville (8-2) – CAL finishes out the season with a solid win over Bullitt East and will be highly favored over Carroll County. 7. South Oldham (9-1) South completes a great regular season with a win over Shelby County. For whatever reason the KHSAA site is not displaying who South's opening round game will be. 8. Central (8-2) – Great win by Central over a very good PRP. Now the Yellow Jackets will host Pike County in the playoffs. 9. Elizabethtown (9-1) - Etown beats Glasgow to conclude a great regular season and will open the playoffs with Trigg County 10. Butler (6-4) Bulter had a bye last weekend but has a very difficult game ahead of them as they have to travel up I-71 to face a very good Ryle. Honorable Mention - Collins (8-2) Central Hardin (7-3) Bullitt Central (6-4) Fern Creek (6-4) Doss (6-3) Teams on the Rise – Central with their win over PRP Teams on the Decline – PRP with back to back losses. Featured Game of the Week – Butler versus Ryle- Louisville Power Rankings October 25
- Louisville Power Rankings October 25
1. Trinity (10-0) – Trinity hits Ballard pretty hard last week, 49-0. This week is a rematch against Seneca which will probably be very similar to the last time they met up. 2. St. Xavier (8-1) – St. X continues to roll beating Bulter 37-0. This week's game versus always powerful Cincy X will be very difficult for the Tigers. The game is in Louisville so that will give the Tigers a slight edge. 3. Male (8-2) – Male brought home the whiskey barrel beating Manual 27-20. This week H should be favored heavily over Connor. 4. Pleasure Ridge Park (6-3) – Tough loss for the Panthers against a very strong Scott County 21-48. Things only get a little easier as PRP goes to visit Top 10 Central. 5. DeSales (9-0) – As expected, the Colts had their way with Shawnee 57-0. This week will not be much better as DeSales will face Southern. 6. Christian Academy of Louisville (7-2) – As expected Washington Co. did not fair well against CAL 49-6. Bullitt East should provide a bit better matchup but CAL still a solid favorite. 7. South Oldham (8-1) South just keeps on winning, this time versus North Bullit 57-6. This week is Shelby County who should prove a little better matchup. 8. Elizabethtown (8-1) - A huge apology to Elizabethtown. Earlier in the season there was a mix up as to whether Etown was considered a Louisville Area team or a Western KY team and they just fell off the radar. The Panthers would have been ranked throughout much of this season had this error been noticed earlier. 9. Central (7-2) – Central continues playing well beating Thomas Nelson 42-3. This week will be much tougher as the Yellow Jackets will host a very good PRP. 10. Butler (6-4) Butler took a beating from St. X 0-37 and will full in the rankings but will not fall out of the rankings due to the strength of St. X. Unfortunately for the Bears, they cannot rest to long as this week they will travel up I-71 to face a very good Ryle. Honorable Mention - Central Hardin (6-3) Bullitt Central (6-3) Fern Creek (6-4) Doss (6-3) Teams on the Rise – Will have to give this and an apology to Etown as they continue their long winning streak. Teams on the Decline – Manual is struggling this second half of the season. Featured Game of the Week – PRP versus Central- Trinity/Bishop Gorman
My assumption is that they are.- Louisville Power Rankings 10-17-17
1. Trinity (9-0) – Same story last week as the week before, Trinity easily beats another team. This time Seneca 42-0. Next week will be Ballard and the story will mostly be the same. 2. St. Xavier (7-1) – X pretty much cemented its place as the number 2 team in the Louisville Power Rankings and possibly the state as a whole with a very solid shut out win (27-0) over number 3 Male. Things get a bit easier as they welcome Butler this week. 3. Male (7-2) – Not the best showing for Male last week as the Bulldogs could not put a point on the board. Male get its swagger back with a decisive victory over its arch rival Manual this week. 4. Pleasure Ridge Park (6-2) – The Panthers get a win over Manual 14-7 as they should have and continue their great season. This week highly ranked Scott County comes for a visit. The last time an out in the state power came to PRP, the Panthers sent them (Bowling Green) home with a loss. Can PRP do it again? If so, PRP would be the first KY team to beat Scott County. 5. DeSales (8-0) – As expected, the Colts ran over Washington County 42-0. The rest of the season will probably be the same as the finish the year with Shawnee and Southern. 6. Christian Academy of Louisville (6-2) – After losing to rival DeSales, CAL took out their frustration on Shawnee 62-6. Will probably do the same next week against Washington County. 7. South Oldham (7-1) South was expected to beat Bullitt Central and they did with authority 42-7. This week North Bullitt probably won't do much better. 8. Central (6-2) – Central ran over Bardstown 66-0. Things are looking much better for Thomas Nelson either this week. 9. Butler (5-3) As expected, the Bears beat Eastern 20-10. Unfortunately X is next and will be a very daunting game. 10. Central Hardin (5-3) The number 10 spot continues to be the most difficult to rank as no team can really set itself apart from the next 5-8 teams. CH got the overtime win 35-28 over Meade so they will get it this week. Fern Creek and Doss both have good arguments for the 10 spot also. Honorable Mention - Bullitt Central (5-3) Manual (3-5) Meade County (4-4) Bullitt East (4-4) Fern Creek (5-4) Doss (5-3) Teams on the Rise – St. X with their great shut out over Male. Teams on the Decline – No one stands out. Featured Game of the Week – #3 Male versus Manual- Louisville Power Rankings Oct 8, 2017
Let's be honest, after about 9th, 10th or so, the strength of Louisville area teams starts dropping off fairly quickly among about a dozen or so teams that haven't done much to separate themselves from the pack so which are mentioned OR if any should be mentioned at all is not a huge focus and rarely even discussed on here. Should I have mentioned CH, possibly but last year I got caught up in the CH hype on the Lou ranking thread from various CH supporters and started mentioning and ranking only to really have a REAL head scratcher after they lost AT HOME to a not very good Ballard. So, possibly after that I do have some left over pessimism about CH. Regardless, after Meade and NH I will have a better idea what they do or do not deserve on the rankings.- Louisville Power Rankings Oct 8, 2017
- Louisville Power Rankings Oct 8, 2017
1. Trinity (8-0) – Pretty much expected results last Friday against Eastern. Most likely same story this week against Seneca. Hopefully the backups get plenty of reps should they be needed in the playoffs. 2. St. Xavier (6-1) – St. X gets back to its winning ways with a convincing victory over Manual. This week's game versus Male should be an absolute battle and will be this week's game of the week. 3. Male (7-1) – Bryan Station didn't put up much of a fight for the Dogs. This week versus Male should be the game of the week across the state. 4. Pleasure Ridge Park (5-2) – The Panthers climbed back on the horse with a close win over a good Butler and things will not get any easier as Manual visits the Panthers. 5. DeSales (7-0) – GO COLTS. Great defensive showing by DeSales by holding CAL to only 3 points. CAL has been a thorn in DeSales' side for years but that thorn has been plucked. The rest of the season should be easier as Washington Co., Shawnee and Southern make up the rest of the season. 6. Christian Academy of Louisville (5-2) – Losing to your rival is no fun, losing 21-3 is even worse. The Centurions have a pretty easy remainder of the season to regroup for the playoffs. 7. South Oldham (6-1) South took no mercy on Bullitt East and the next two games will probably be the same story. 8. Central (5-2) – Central had a solid win over a talented Waggoner and will face Bardstown and Thomas Jefferson before its next big match up, PRP. 9. Butler (5-3) Bulter gave a great game to PRP with such a close loss. This week should be easier against Eastern. 10. Bullitt Central (5-2) The number 10 Power Ranking has been the most difficult all year and this week is no difference. Bullitt Central gets the #10 ranking this week but most likely will get bounced out after playing South Oldham so who knows what will happen. Honorable Mention - Manual (3-4) Meade County (4-4) Bullitt East (3-4) Fern Creek (4-4) Doss (4-3) Teams on the Rise – DeSales, continuing their undefeated season with a whale of a game versus LCA Teams on the Decline – No one stands out. Featured Game of the Week – #2 St. X versus #3 Male- Louisville Power Rankings Oct 5, 2017
1. Trinity (7-0) – Trinity continues its dominance by shutting out the number 2 team in the state, St. X 28-0. Next week's game versus Eastern could get ugly quick. 2. St. Xavier (5-1) – X will stay at number 2 despite the loss. At this point, no one in Louisville 6A would give Trinity a much better game. X versus H will determine if X stays at number 2. Next week is another rival in Manual which has struggled with St. X over the past few decades. 3. Male (6-1) – Great win for Male over a strong PRP. Next week is Bryan Station. 4. Pleasure Ridge Park (5-2) – While PRP has back to back losses, they are from the number 2 and 3 team so hard to knock the Panthers too hard. Next will be against a very good Butler which should be a great game. 5. Christian Academy of Louisville (5-1) – Nice win over a good Meade County. This week is the game of the week against undefeated DeSales. Both teams are playing strong. 6. DeSales (6-0) – Great win over North Hardin. Now comes DeSales regular season nemesis, CAL. While CAL is ranked higher, this game is probably a toss up. 7. South Oldham (5-1) South Oldham took no mercy on Nelson County. Next week versus Bullitt East will probably be a solid win also. 8. Central (5-2) – After its hiccup in the middle of the season, the Yellow Jackets are back with their impressive win over Waggener. Next is Bardstown. 9. Butler (5-2) Nice win over Manual last week. This week will be tough versus Number 4 PRP. 10. Manual (3-3) After reeling off three straight wins, Manual stumbles against Butler. Manual will stay ranked for the moment but St. X this week will probably put another one in the loss column. Honorable Mention - Meade County (4-3) Bullitt Central (4-2) Bullitt East (3-3) Fern Creek (4-3) Teams on the Rise – Central making a nice recovery after their back to back losses a few weeks ago. Teams on the Decline – No one stands out. Featured Game of the Week – #5 Christian Academy versus #6 DeSales- Does your Stadium offer split the pot raffles?
I believe Trinity and X do not do them due to their presidents not wanting them. Not sure why, we do two at a Trivia fundraiser for Lifehouse Louisville.- Louisville Power Rankings September 27
1. Trinity (6-0) – Trinity had a pretty easy time with Jeffersontown last week but this is Pride week and St. X will be ready to give the Rocks all they can in this week's Game of the Week. Trinity is the obvious favorite but rivalry games can be unpredictable. 2. St. Xavier (5-0) – St. X had a nice win over a very strong PRP. This week will be X's strongest opponent in Trinity 3. Male (5-1) – Male pounded a good Butler team 35-6. A PRP team off a loss comes to Male and should give Male a great test. 4. Pleasure Ridge Park (5-1) – PRP's loss to St. X was nothing to be ashamed of but the Panthers really need a win this week to avoid back to back losses. Unfortunately their opponent will be Male. 5. Christian Academy of Louisville (5-1) – CAL had a week off to work things out after its loss to Newport Central Catholic. This week will be a respectable Meade County who is coming off a loss to John Hardin. 6. DeSales (5-0) – The Colts headed East and achieved a nice win of Lexington Catholic. This week will be no easier as they comes to DeSales. 7. South Oldham (4-1) South Oldham defeated its fellow county foe Oldham County and will most likely win again this week as they visit Nelson County. 8. Central (4-2) – Central gets back to its winning ways with a decisive victory over Henry County. Waggener should give the Yellow Jackets a little better game this week. 9. Butler (4-2) Butler had a bad loss to Male last week 6-35. It only gets a little easier as they will face Manual at home this week. 10. Manual (4-2) After reeling off three straight wins, Manual is back in the power rankings but this week they face a good Butler. Honorable Mention - Meade County (4-2) Manual (4-2) Bullitt Central (4-1) Fern Creek (3-3) Teams on the Rise – Manual, after a rough start of the season, the Crimsons have pulled off three straight wins. Teams on the Decline – No one stands out. Featured Game of the Week – #1 Trinity versus #2 St. X- Louisville Power Rankings 9-20-17
1. Trinity (5-0) – Trinity completed its five game run through several top teams in other states and the 6A #3 team. This week the Rocks get a lighter opponent in Jeffersontown. 2. St. Xavier (4-0) – St. X decisively defeated a strong Central team. Things get no easier as X will visit top five PRP. 3. Male (4-1) – Male returns to its winning ways with a nice win over Western. They will now welcome a pretty decent Butler team. 4. Pleasure Ridge Park (5-0) – PRP has played outstanding football this season as they defeated North Hardin last week but the toughest test of the year comes this week as they welcome St. X. Their two touch down victory over Bowling Green would suggest they have a chance against the Tigers but St. X would have to be the favorite in this week's Game of the Week. 5. Christian Academy of Louisville (4-1) – CAL's trip to Northern Kentucky landed them their first loss to Newport Central Catholic. The Centurions will need to regroup as this week they travel to Meade County High School. 6. DeSales (4-0) – The Colts had a nice when over formerly ranked Fern Creek last week. This week DeSales travels East to Lexington Catholic for another challenging game. 7. South Oldham (3-1) South Oldham crushed Boone County last week and should be favored again versus Oldham County. 8. Butler (4-1) The Bears took care of business versus Doss but this week will be the toughest of the year. Butler will be visiting Male and will be a decisive underdog. 9. Central (3-2) – Wins over Manual, Western and Fern Creek made the Yellow Jackets look to be a team among the best in Louisville. Two bad losses to Ballard (7-30) and St. X (7-42) has brought Central back down to Earth. This week should be easier against Henry County. Hopefully Central can get another win and get its confidence back and have a strong push through the rest of the regular season. 10. Meade County (4-1) After an opening season loss to 6A Simon Kenton, Meade and rolled with four straight victories. This week they will be favored to continue winning against John Hardin. Honorable Mention - Manual (2-2) Bullitt Central (3-0) Fern Creek (2-3) Teams on the Rise – South Oldham was they shook off their loss to CAL and continue with impressive wins. Teams on the Decline – Still Fern Creek with back to back to back losses. Featured Game of the Week – #2 St. X versus #4 PRP- Louisville Power Rankings 9-13-17
1. Trinity (4-0) – Trinity took on it first KY opponent in the Male Bulldogs. Trinity's Defense looked incredible as they shut out the Bulldogs but the Offense struggled in the red zone. This week's game is up in the air as Hurricane Irma may prevent Champagnat Catholic (FL) from making it to Louisville. 2. St. Xavier (3-0) – The Fairdale Bulldogs were not expected to be able to give X much competition and they didn't as the Tigers beat Fairdale 56-14. This week X will face a much better competitor in Louisville Central for this week's Game of the Week. 3. Male (3-1) – A loss normally result in a drop in the rankings but because the loss was a respectable loss to Trinity, Male will stay where it is. This week should be easier but don't count out Western, they have been playing some fine football. 4. Christian Academy of Louisville (4-0) – Another week, another CAL victory. Last week over a good Etown. This week will be a trip to Newport Central Catholic where CAL will be favored but cannot expect an easy victory. 5. Pleasure Ridge Park (4-0) – PRP keeps playing some great football with its victory over North Hardin. The Panthers get a week off to prepare for their battle against the visiting Tigers of St. X. 6. DeSales (3-0) – The Colts had last week off to prepare for visiting Fern Creek this week. This week will be a good match up as a solid Fern Creek visits. The Tigers come into DeSales with back to back losses making DeSales the assumed favorite. 7. Central (3-1) – The Yellow Jackets have been playing outstanding football which makes the home loss to Ballard a bit of a head scratcher. For not Central stays #7 but how well they bounce back this week as they take on St. X will tell quite a bit. 8. South Oldham (2-1) South Oldham took care of North Oldham last week and now has to go North to Boone Co.. 9. Butler (3-1) Congrats to Butler for making it into the Power Rankings with a solid win over Fern Creek. This week the Bears visit Doss. 10. Fern Creek (2-2) – Losing to Central was nothing to worry about, losing to Butler the very next week does bring attention to how things are going at the Creek and things get no easier as they have to visit DeSales this week. Honorable Mention - Bullitt Central (3-0) Teams on the Rise – Butler entering the rankings this week. Teams on the Decline – Fern Creek with back to back losses. Featured Game of the Week – #2 St. X versus #7 Central- Louisville Power Rankings 9-3-17
1. Trinity (3-0) – A 38-30 victory over Moeller rounds out Trinity three games against out of state powers. The Rock's undefeated record against those three solidified Trinity's #1 ranking. This week is certainly not easy as Trinity will face 6A #3 Male High School on Male's home turf in The Game of the Week. 2. St. Xavier (2-0) – The Purples have been a bit of a monkey on X's back over the last few years but the Tigers rolled out of Bowling Green with a victory. This week will be considerably easier as they welcome Fairdale 3. Male (3-0) – The Bulldogs round out the old Big 3 by handedly defeating Doss. Male's toughest opponent of the season will be this week as Trinity visits Male. 4. Christian Academy of Louisville (3-0) – CAL earns another win over a quality opponent in Central Hardin last week. This week is another strong opponent as Elizabethtown High School visits the Centurions. 5. Pleasure Ridge Park (3-0) – PRP earns another victory last week over Eastern. This week competition improves as North Hardin comes to the Panther's home. 6. DeSales (3-0) – DeSales keeps their perfect record by running over their rival Louisville Holy Cross. This week will be a good match up as a solid Fern Creek visits. 7. Central (3-0) – The Yellow Jackets had an outstanding game last week as they beat a good Fern Creek team. This week will be a little easier as Ballard comes to Central 8. Fern Creek (2-1) – Fern Creek losing to a quality opponent like Central is nothing to lose sleep over. Losing 29-0 thought is somewhat concerning. The Tigers visit Butler with hopes of getting back on the wagon 9. South Oldham (1-1) South Oldham was idle last week, this week the Dragons should have an easy time with North Oldham. 10. Bullitt Central (3-0) The Cougars enter the Power Rankings with wins over Louisville Holy Cross, Spencer County and Southern. This week they will have a bye week. Honorable Mention - Manual (0-2) – Despite losing back to back, I still believe Manual can beat most of the teams in Louisville and will work its way back into the Power Rankings. Bulter (2-1) - Butler's sole loss was by one point to DeSales Teams on the Rise – Central with a great victory over Fern Creek Teams on the Decline – Fern Creek Featured Game of the Week – #1 Trinity versus #3 Male- 6A #1 Trinity at #3 Male
If Male has a passing game like last year (do they? I don't know), they will score a decent number of points, just not the kind points Trinity will score. I've said it for years, if you can throw the ball, you can score on Trinity, just not enough most likely.- Vote for Trinity kid for USA Today Player of the Week
