Louisville Power Rankings 10-17-17

Featured Replies

1. Trinity (9-0) – Same story last week as the week before, Trinity easily beats another team. This time Seneca 42-0. Next week will be Ballard and the story will mostly be the same.

2. St. Xavier (7-1) – X pretty much cemented its place as the number 2 team in the Louisville Power Rankings and possibly the state as a whole with a very solid shut out win (27-0) over number 3 Male. Things get a bit easier as they welcome Butler this week.

3. Male (7-2) – Not the best showing for Male last week as the Bulldogs could not put a point on the board. Male get its swagger back with a decisive victory over its arch rival Manual this week.

4. Pleasure Ridge Park (6-2) – The Panthers get a win over Manual 14-7 as they should have and continue their great season. This week highly ranked Scott County comes for a visit. The last time an out in the state power came to PRP, the Panthers sent them (Bowling Green) home with a loss. Can PRP do it again? If so, PRP would be the first KY team to beat Scott County.

5. DeSales (8-0) – As expected, the Colts ran over Washington County 42-0. The rest of the season will probably be the same as the finish the year with Shawnee and Southern.

6. Christian Academy of Louisville (6-2) – After losing to rival DeSales, CAL took out their frustration on Shawnee 62-6. Will probably do the same next week against Washington County.

7. South Oldham (7-1) South was expected to beat Bullitt Central and they did with authority 42-7. This week North Bullitt probably won't do much better.

8. Central (6-2) – Central ran over Bardstown 66-0. Things are looking much better for Thomas Nelson either this week.

9. Butler (5-3) As expected, the Bears beat Eastern 20-10. Unfortunately X is next and will be a very daunting game.

10. Central Hardin (5-3) The number 10 spot continues to be the most difficult to rank as no team can really set itself apart from the next 5-8 teams. CH got the overtime win 35-28 over Meade so they will get it this week. Fern Creek and Doss both have good arguments for the 10 spot also.

Honorable Mention -

Bullitt Central (5-3)

Manual (3-5)

Meade County (4-4)

Bullitt East (4-4)

Fern Creek (5-4)

Doss (5-3)

Teams on the Rise – St. X with their great shut out over Male.

Teams on the Decline – No one stands out.

Featured Game of the Week – #3 Male versus Manual

If you are going to have a HM group with those teams, better add a pair 6-2 schools from Shelbyville. Collins and Shelby Co. both are better than a lot of those teams you have listed.
