  1. A source of mine who has known Marrow for 30+ years thinks he stays at UK as long as they get in the ballpark with their counter offer.
  2. It wasn't just UK beating them out for priority targets in Ohio.
  3. Yesterday was a very good day for Bearcat Journal. :dancingpa
  4. Yup. Dejon Jarreau took a bit out of Mamoudou Diarra's thigh in a scrum in the 2nd half.
  5. I'm done exploring how much a team would give you in return to draft him.
  6. Love ya Goldie. If you ever need anything you know where to find me.
  7. They only have 1 pick in each round this year. No extra draft capital in the 2020 or 2021 drafts at this point, and very little when it comes to tradeable assets to build any either.
  8. If you are trying to actually win big, you get the foundation in place and then start the clock with the franchise QB on the rookie deal. That maximizes the value, and you don't spend 2-3 of those critical 5 years in purgatory. Doesn't matter, though. They are drafting Burrow and throwing him to the fire head first. I think he'll be fine, I just forsee a couple seasons struggling to even see .500 based on how bad the roster is constructed. They have a long way to go, and the initial point I made was that the only actual thing of value to begin the rebuild is that #1 pick. Turning that 1 pick into 5 could have gone a long way.
  9. It seems you're a little slow picking up what I'm saying. I have no issue with Burrow, and think he will be a good NFL QB. My issue is with the Bengals roster, and that they aren't in a position to take advantage of drafting a QB 1st and actually benefiting from it. They have no draft capital, won't play the free agent game at the higher levels and don't have much to work with in terms of trading for value. That makes it very likely that by the time the roster is turned over, Burrow will be near the end of his rookie deal and ready to either get out or get paid. The franchise is in flames, and Burrow is throwing a single bucket of water on the blaze at this point.
  10. So the Bengals just need to be a competent NFL franchise. What could possibly go wrong.
  11. The most common evaluation is Goff, which at this point is a guy that can be very good with a high level compliment of parts around him. If any of those areas around him struggle, the production takes a significant dip. My biggest concern in all of this is the ability to make an even adequate rebuild of this roster before at least 2022. Point blank, the Bengals are not anywher close to position themselves to benefit from the rewards of having an above-average QB on a rookie deal and that is best case on Burrow as it currently stands. I'd be all for Burrow if this roster looked remotely competent to make noise over the next 3-4 years. Instead I see a lenghty rebuild that doesn't provide any advantage the stud QB on a rookie contract is supposed to provide.
  12. Bust? No. Legit franchise changing QB? I’m not sold at this point.
  13. Anderson and Boomer played in the Super Bowl. You insist on comparing them to guys that couldn't win a single playoff game as a Bengal. Mike, Katie, Troy and Duke are going to draft Joe Burrow. They don't actually care about rebuilding the roster as long as the vocal minority believes Burrow is the answer. Double digit loses next year and just good enough to miss on Trevor Lawrence.
  14. So, he won nothing as a Bengal. You are like a battered spouse that constantly covers for their abusive husband sometimes.
  15. Yes and no. Much bigger problem if you aren't prepared with quality replacements in line to fill the spot. As you know, it is very hard to catch Luke off guard.
  16. Yes, especially when he decided to change his official visit this past weekend. Went with his younger brother for an unofficial visit about a month ago and things moved fast from there. UC wasn’t caught off guard and had two potential replacements for that spot on camps this weekend.
  17. I can tell you with 100% certainty that Jarron was held out against Valpo because of the ankle and his back being sore from the fall he took against BG. Are things great between JB and Jarron? Not at all, and claiming otherwise is not knowing the situation, but he wasn't held out in the Virgin Islands because of anything off the court. I'm not guessing either.
  18. Opened at 12.5. Already bet down to 11.
  19. John expects everyone to practice at maximum effort. Jarron isn't fond of practice.
