Gayheart is a VERY special player! IMO She stands alone as POY in the 8th region. She does it ALL for Owen County.

True point guard is one who can handle the ball with either hand and KEEP her head up to make that long pass down the court for a lay up, make her team mates BETTER and be able to shoot the ball. 1) R. Gayheart - Owen Cty 2) A. Cheeseman - Ryle Have yet too see another PG at this level. No disrespect Panda but Clark can not dribble with both hands like a true point guard should. JMO

Maybe you forgot about what I would consider on of Simon Kentons third best team. They beat Oldham Cty in January 50-41 without Hester and then lose to them in the 8th region championship 63-57 with Hester and they were loaded that year with 3 of the top 5 players in the region. Never count a team out in December.

They are only seven games into their schedule. Give the coach and the players time to gel. He will have them ready come tournament time.

I think Bowling Green is the better team but they seem to get beat before getting to the finals so I'll take John Hardin.

South Oldham/Walton in both games last year the difference in both games was one point. They have the possibility of playing three times this year.

They are both extremely gifted basketball players that work hard on and off the court and it shows. They are the heart and soul of their teams. If I had to pick a team for the preseason favorite it would be the Lady Dragons of South Oldham because of Whitfield and Dye which is the best tandem in the 8th region. Who else can match up with these two players in the region?
