If NKY football is way behind the teams that are playing in this "state championshp" it is amazing how much ground we make up in a few years With that siad, I get why teams would want play in for a state MS champtionship. You take out all of the NKY teams, the Lousiville teams, and most of the other state powers (looks like BG competes) - winning a "state championship" becomes a lot easier. Correct me if I am wrong plantmanky.

I haven't done the math, but I would bet you that Hellbird's proposal resulted in Cooper winning the district in 2012.

Why don't you start a tread on this. I would be interested in what others say. Like most things that come out from you - I tend to disagree with this as well. Your future has no impact on whether you decide to play or not??? Wow!!!

I think there is definitely a home field advantage for Highlands. It is just tight and the visitor sideline conditions are not good (not that there is anything the school can do about). Not sure it translates to wins, but it doesn't hurt. I remember the coach from East Jessamine seemed to get a bit consumed with the sideline situation a few years ago.

No you were calling me out and I should have been. At the end of the day, we wll need to realize these are real kids and real families and we need to be careful about how we talk about them. I will be more careful.

You are right about adults calling out kids. I do my best not to call out kids (I am sure I have screwed up in the past) individually, but I didn't in this case. I just suggested that a parent who couldn't control their kid may want to try what would work for me. I think your issue might be with someone else in this thread who called out the kid/family, but it wasn't me.

Really? I certainly didn't write the book on good parenting, but maybe she should try this: - The next time you open your mouth on the soccer field or embarass me your season will be done. It would work in our house.

As to this point, I would think it impacts Cov. Cath more over the course of a season than any single opponent.

I really think that rating recruits by the number of stars is more recent and doubt that extends back to Sonny Collins. Looking at that USA Today list there is another KY RB, who no one has mentioned - Tony Driver from Male.

Great game. The kid from Cov. Cath who scored the game winning touchdown deserves particular praise. Great effort by him to get in, because Highlands defended the play pretty well.

If Damien Harris is in the conversation then I think the names he is competing with are Sonny Collins, Shaun Alexander, and Michael Bush.

Marc Logan and Mark Higgs were also better than most of the names being mentioned on here.

Only played QB senior year was a RB every season prior. He is a RB.

Sonny Collins and Michael Bush. Most of these others are very good high school players but do not belong in a best ever discussion IMO.
