Wow, is Lake Cumberland still officially a lake?

The field turf Highlands installed is actually a better product than the fields most schools are installing today. It has both, a rubber and sand base. Most fields installed today just have the rubber base. Also, this field does not become slippery when wet!!! A big plus. Yes, the field looks a tad worn. That is due in large part to its exposure to the sun and other outdoor conditions after 7+ years, but better, due to all the many uses the field has provided to the youth of Ft Thomas! :thumb: Are metal cleats sill street legal on grass fields?

Exactly! Everyone knows that we do not have dorms on campus... they are across the street from the Middle School!

I think they understand it is nearly impossible to compare teams when you have little to compare to in terms of competition. I will agree that this squad has the greatest depth in skill players, especially running backs, than I have ever remembered. It's been a great ride... with the best yet to come!

Very classy post about a class program on the rise! It certainly helps to have parents and fans like you behind the scenes to make a program roll. I stayed on the field well after the game and witnessed how emotionally upset the JC players were... that is a sign that they have the fire in them and will be working today to get them prepared for next year! As for the JC broadcasting crew... they had a better vantage point from the foundation's station than from a spot deep behind the HHS team. Quite simply... we do not have the facilities. Heck, our own stream 'casters are on the 2nd floor of the library peering out from two windows.

1,000 would not suprise me in the least... they had a strong showing at last year's state game... you will have a nice crowd on hand from N Kentucky!

I agree with everything you said. Except the very last word... victory. I just think this game will be the game everyone is talking about on Saturday morning, afternoon and evening. This one will be a close one ...SK will be on top at the sound of the whistle. (That reminds me, when my dad ref'd highschool ball for about 20 years, they actually used a "blank gun" to end the games. Oh my, how things have changed. Now a days one would be arrested for having such a device on a school campus!)

That was a brutal schedule as well and I think Colerain and Louisville St X were both raniked #1 in their respective states. That schedule had a direct impact on not progressing further into the playoffs ... some years you can get buy with it, but most you can not. Also, the usual characters like Dixie, Ryle and Cov Cath were playing much better ball than what we saw last year and what we are witnessing this year... At the end of the day... the games were close and exciting contests but the boys were not able to bring home the trophy.

What, X did not want to play us next year? Actually, I think that will be a great match-up...

I think the St X win is one of the biggest wins of all time for the 'Birds. I am ready for more contests across the pond as a result of the St X victory. But, we paid a price for that victory and that was Bardo at the QB position. Due to the size and depth of our squads year-in and year-out, I would rather not schedule multiple GCL teams during a given year. Several years ago we had Trotwood Madison, Elder and St Francis DeSles scheduled all in one year. My opinion, the L's, the overall physical punishment on the team, took a toll on the 'Birds as they prepared for District play. JMO... This year... I think the 'Birds probably could handle that schedule and that is due to the depth on this year's squad. I guess we'll see what Dale has in mind for next year in due time. :thumb:

Just making a statement for his cause... Miles has been producing on the gridiron for several years. While everyone who is in consideration deserves a POB, some I have not heard of until this year. Perhaps the "flash in a pan" comment is too harsh for all the positive recognition these athletes deserve. My bad...

How many of the JC players go "both ways?" I read that the QB plays on both sides of the line. Anyone else?
