How does HHS compare to the last 2 years championship teams

Featured Replies

Is HHS as good as the previous years teams or better and how will the next game play out compared to the last two years games (Lincoln County and Whitley County)????

This team is better and the only team in recent years that can be compared to this one is the Lorenzen/Smith team. Defense is the difference. This may be the best Highlands defense ever.

Two weeks too soon for this discussion. Let's hope the boys take care of business and then we'll have all winter to debate it along with the length of the team dinner and the o-lines lunch menu. :D

IMO this is one of their top defensive teams. Offensively IMO I don't believe this team is one of the better ones.

Highlands = Yankees either you love them or hate them...

I'm not sure that this year's defense is better than Highlands' defense from 2004. The "wildcard" in this is how deep HHS is this year, which allows them to platoon, unlike in most years when several guys are playing both ways.

I agree with the previous poster... this topic is two weeks premature. If HHS wins state, then this can be legitimately discussed.

This year's team is still playing. The others aren't playing.

Who at times had 4 Juniors and 2 Soph's on the field this past Friday night.

Seems to me that the older, wiser more knowledgeable of the HHS posters understand that you can't decide who is the best team ever at HHS, until this team has that trophy back in Ft. Thomas.

My guess is that those posters have seen stranger things happen over the years and understand that you can never say never!

I think they understand it is nearly impossible to compare teams when you have little to compare to in terms of competition.

I will agree that this squad has the greatest depth in skill players, especially running backs, than I have ever remembered.

It's been a great ride... with the best yet to come!

Two more games boys. Or should I say "men". Then you all can talk about who is better. Because if they don't finish it, then...............

Birds will finish it!!!!!

FINISH IT??? We'll NEVER finish it! When 19 is attained, it's on to 20!!:ylsuper:

I agree with the OldGuy, but this team is scary fast.

No way this team has the best D ever. Early in the season, teams like Beechwood and Withrow were running all over them. They started playing well against St. X and have played well since, but they started out way too rough to be considered the best ever. The 2007 team gets my vote for these past three seasons.

HHS teams get better and better.
