Honestly, I figured O would running clock Grayson, I was being facetious more than anything. I just truly do not think O has played a tough game in close to three months and it would be a concern for me as the playoffs continue. I think everyone can agree 5A is down this year. Not that it would take away from O or anyone winning a state championship, cause winning one is not easy at all. Losing South Warren to 6A, who looks to be the second best team in KY behind Trinity, and seeing Highlands in 4A with a chance at a title run shows that 5A is down this year. Can O win it all, sure. However, so could about 5 other teams as there is not a dominate 5A team, like in most years.

I agree. That is the only quality win I see, which was mentioned in my post.

Finally someone with some sense. I mentioned how weak O's schedule was last week on their thread and was told that it I was wrong LOL. I just don't see any good wins other than a 2A OCath team. Outside of that give me one win that proves they are even in consideration for being an all time great and elite Owensboro team. It is wild to hear the claim and to say that Wimsatt is worse than Ganaway at QB. Until he leads them to a state championship game or beats a quality opponent, I refuse to think that a kid that had D1 offers flowing in throughout his high school career is worse than a kid that beat OCath by 13 and got slaughtered by X and CAL.

I would agree with you on the DB comment. Greenwood's best attribute is their front 7 or 8 guys. They do a great job stopping the running and pressuring the QB on drop back passes, but not sure how that will look with a back like Hampton. If O can get screens out to Dillard and hit quick game passes, I can see a running clock. I do think Greenwood is really good this year and I can see a game where O wins by 14 to 21. Just depends on how Greenwood can move the ball offensively.

Who are the 4 teams that they have running clocked better than Grayson? I look at O's schedule and think it is one of the weakest schedules of the top 8 teams in 5A. I see X, CAL, and OCath and that is about it. Two of those games were ugly for the Devils, although I would agree they were first two games of the season.

Owensboro wins, but I would not be surprised if it does not make it to a running clock.

Congrats to both Coach Howard and Davis Chaney on their great season and award. Well deserved. I hope to see them beat MNH and would love to see them shock the state at Rash next week.

Man. What a game. I am still surprised at that one, but also think Glasgow got what they deserved. It was supposed to be a home game for Glasgow, but willingly moved to Franklin to help preserve the field for playoffs. You don't do that IMO. When given a home game, you take advantage of it. There are so many factors going against you when you have to count for travel time, sitting on a bus, unfamiliar environment, etc.

I think Glasgow beats Franklin by 21+

I agree with y'all as well. Greenwood is sneaky good and has gotten better every single game. Their DC is in his first year for them, so they had to learn some new things and it has been good for them. I still think O would win, but to say they would blow them out, I do not see that at all.

That is honestly amazing that it plays out like this. It really is sad that these two, once dominate, programs have fallen to the point they are at today. Give me the Tigers in the final game of this old rivalry.

I believe this makes the Purples undefeated two straight years for their FROSH teams. Future continues to look bright for the Purples to continue their dominance in 5A.

BG would have beaten Catholic if they had started the Freshman, Anthony Davis, at QB. They, like most teams would have, did not realize how poorly QB play would be to the point to trust a Freshman to open the season. BG still has not played a single game with a complete roster. Last week against Greenwood, BG was without their starting Defensive Tackle and their versatile two way starter Jaxen Smith. My understanding is both will be available and back in action this Friday against Grayson Co. If BG were to host Apollo and lose in round 2, then that would be one of the worst losses in recent program history.

That truly would shuffle things around some for playoffs and would be interesting to say the least. I guess we shall see Friday night.

This will age well...... When BG is playing Thanksgiving weekend for a chance to go to the championship.

Owensboro by 3 touchdowns. I thought a few weeks ago this would be a big game, but with the Apollo loss and their squeak past Graves, I think MNH may have been fooling us some.

Could this be the year that Cooper finally figures BG out and gets their first title? It would be wild to see the two again, as Cooper has been to the State Championship 3 times in program history falling to BG in all three appearances.

I totally agree here. I think that Scott, O, Cooper, and BG are probably the best in 5A come playoff time baring any injuries. I am excited to see how Woodford and MNH finish the year. I think Atherton is dangerous, but their lack of scheduling will be impossible to overcome in the playoffs.

Any update on Goodin's status for Friday?
