Is there any information available regarding streaming of the district games?

For what it's worth, Higginbotham for McCreary hurt his knee in Friday's game against DCA. He had ice on it and was walking pretty gingerly. They'll need him at full strength against Southwestern. Does anyone know his status for this upcoming game against Southwestern?

I checked the Massey Ratings for the 12th region and tallied the top 3 teams in several categories as well as a list of the overall ratings. I also included the top 3 based on RPI. I didn't watch the entire game but in the 4th quarter Pulaski played about as poorly as they could play. They couldn't buy a basket. Then, Anderson made a couple of plays and they played about as well as they could. It was like someone hit a switch all of a sudden. They just about beat North Laurel but North Laurel made the plays they needed to.

Due to the weather forecast the Danville Christian versus Lexington Catholic start time has been changed to 6:30 pm and there is no JV game.

Taylor County 60 Boyle County 48 at Boyle. Demauriah Brown was sitting on the Boyle bench in street clothes. Any idea as to why?

Usually things revert to the mean. Webb shoots 33% and Brown 24% from three. It’s not impossible that they’d hit like they did against DCA but it’s not too likely. And, the chances they’d both be well above their average on the same night is even less likely. Massey has Mercer at #60 this week and Ballard and Adair are in the #20 + or - range. By this time of the year Massey is pretty good at ranking teams.

Take 2 of the top 3 players off of each team in the region and see what their record would be.

Was the technical deserved or did the ref hand the game to Boyle? It should take a lot to get a technical in that situation. Let the players decide it on the court.

DCA 53 Lincoln 35 at DCA

I think for COY Shaun Busick at DCA has to be one of the leading contenders. At the beginning of the year most people on this site were ranking DCA at #3 or #4. The knock on them was that they'd lost too many good players and some of the ones he had to count on were young and untested. He installed a new offensive system, switched defenses, and built a bench that goes 5 deep. Winning the All A state championship was huge. Yes, he did inherit an excellent point guard in Boyd and the two bigs in Ayiei and Ateny but he's done an outstanding job in bringing the rest of them along. I understand the argument for picking a coach who's done a lot with less, like Al Gover. Who knows how the rest of the season will play out. If one of the coaches who has less options makes a strong run in the regional tournament it would solidify that argument.

Based on Runcible Owl's post on the regions ranked by the Massey Ratings it appears that the top bracket is the toughest. That bracket has the regions ranked 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 10. The bottom bracket has the regions ranked 1, 3, 8, and 9. Of course, anything can happen in a tournament so it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

I'd say Boyd. There are several games that DCA would not have won if it hadn't been for him. Nothing against Ellis, he's a good player, but Boyd's toughness and defense have elevated that entire team.

8 out of 12 Juniors. It looks like the 12th region will have quite a few quality players next year.

Cash Baird from Lincoln has been playing well as of late. I'm not familiar with his performance over the course of the season though. I've not seen all of the players on that list but of the ones I have seen they are all deserving.

Pulaski has a lot of strengths but they lack quickness. Hargis is definitely quicker than Carson so he helps in that regard.

That’s a good point but Lincoln missed a lot too. Late in the game the announcers said they were something like 1 for the last 5.

DCA vs Boyle rescheduled for Saturday at 1:30. Both teams have games with solid opponents the night before. DCA plays Lincoln and Boyle plays Somerset on Friday.
