I would agree. Choosing to play up and playing the 2 seed out of Allen County-Scottsville, Calloway County, Hopkinsville, Logan County, Paducah Tilghman, and Warren East in the 2nd round seems like bad judgment. Heck that 1st round game against that 4th seed will be tough also.

Not in a district with any of those like they would've been with CAL and Central. And also only in the west with Franklin County. However, their cross district in 4A is much, much, much tougher than what it would've been in 3A.

With less? Kenyon Goodin is one of the best athletes in the state and he's shooting 50% from 3. Not to mention Quintin Simmons and the sophomore Cochran whose pushing 6'7. That trio is up there among best trios in the region. Gaither is a definite contender but its because of that record, not because hes over-performing his talent. In my humble opinion at least.

Not disagreeing with the 15th ranking, but Collins is the 4 seed in their district tourney. What a draw for Spencer County.

There's an insane amount of individual talent in the 8th region as you all have spoken about above, but don't sleep on Camden Cox and Luke Erhardt from Spencer County. Kids can shoot the lights out and if they get a step they can finish in the lane. Cox averages 5 rebounds a game as a guard and Erhardt has a crazy knack for jumping passing lanes and poking balls loose.

Spencer County Bears, located in Taylorsville. Not even 20 years into their varsity history, starting in 2004. Complete with a slew of vehicles lining KY-44 it is small-town Friday nights to the letter. Also the best grass field in the state, for my money.

Asking plain as day "hey can you all put us in this district because we can beat those teams but not the teams we're with" sounds incredibly soft. Either drop from district play or request to drop down a class, but districts are drawn on location and location alone.

Teagan Moore against Spencer County was about as perfect of a high school basketball game that one kid could play. 44 and 15 and felt like it could've been even more. Bad matchup for the Bears but regardless, kid is a hooper.

Deep into the playoffs for sure. But being in a district with almost certainly CAL and Central is much less appealing than the 4A schools around Desales.

The team that knocked out Trinity had zero "impressive" wins in the regular season, lost to Boyle by 3 TDs earlier in the year, lost to Scott County, and got wiped off the field by Freddy D. I do not think its inconceivable this year that Trinity should be behind BE/Male/X/Ballard, FD/BG, Boyle/Corbin, CAL, and maybe even Pikeville who was one of the most impressive looking teams physically at Kroger Field.

Correct, but the down marker guy was told by the ref it was 1st down. So, the down marker was on 1st down.

To be fair, Male absolutely got in the endzone on the play before the fumble. All while thinking it was 1st down instead of 4th.

I don't wanna be the "you're wrong" guy, but, every level of football that I'm familiar with when it comes to crossing the plain of the endzone it is all about the ball. Ball crosses the white line and nothing else crosses, TD. Whole body of the player is in the endzone but the ball doesn't cross the white line, no TD.

My top candidate is Rayno. Kid has a very real shot at the 4A title and leading the entire state in rushing yards in the process.

The people down highway 44 in Mt. Washington really can't wrap their heads around losing to little ole Spencer County. Just hate to see it!

I'm assuming the thought is pairing 1 through 4 in the East and West would eliminate a drive from Eastern KY to Western KY or vise versa in the "regional" round. It would work out this year in those pairings listed but imagine having to travel between Logan County and Johnson Central 4 and a half hours for a "region" championship".
