I have been told this by multiple people now, including current Scott coach and staff.

With 4 current NKY jobs open, it got me thinking of the landscape of the area. It’s been a weird last few years for NKY coaching jobs with what feels like more turnover than normal, legends retiring, out of state coaches leaving after a few months, in state coaches leaving after 2 days, an older, but former in state coach coming back, a new school, hirings, firings, and resignations. Is it me, or has this been a weird few years in NKY? What has been the most open jobs in NKY open at one time? 4 just right now, and would have been 5 had St. Henry waited a week or two, or Brossart would have made the decision a week or two earlier. Is turnover like this happening like this in areas across the state? Is NKY just getting unlucky? Is this more common nowadays, the new norm? Or am I just creating fake hysteria? Who are the longest tenured coaches in NKY? Who has the most turnover in the last decade? So many questions, I know, but I would love to hear any and all thoughts - NKY folks and beyond!

As each day passes, the original theory of they have a guy in mind goes further and further out the window. Which then goes back to how baffling this decision was. With that, if they don’t have someone by early February, they are hurting themselves and the new coach.

To contradict what I was originally told, please forgive, I have been informed that some of the assistant coaches are running the off season program during the search, and at least 1 has applied for the job.

I guess we know at least person who won’t be the next head coach.

It was just a matter of time before this happened. Unfortunately, Boone will never be the same as it once was, and Bryson was the perfect man for the job in so many ways. As for the next head coach at Boone, Goodluck. A very tall task for anyone. Coach Warner, Goodluck on what’s next!

Did he apply to these jobs before coming to CovCath? Sounds like yes. Which tells me all I need to know. He’s got a son at a school with a winning football program AND getting to coach him. I don’t know why anyone would blow that up.

This is now the 4th CovCath coach mentioned in this thread, you all trying to take my happiness away?! In all seriousness, I know nothing about him outside of him being at CCH for quite a bit now, if he has aspirations to be a head coach, why not, but I have a hard time believing he’d uproot his son from CovCath to go to Brossart. Issac was and still will be a key contributor for the Colonels this fall. Tough spot to put your kid in.

Truthfully, If I’m Scott, I’m calling Belichick and Saban just to gauge their interest.

Teegarden runs his pops HVAC company now and is no longer a teacher. No chance, they have a better chance at Terry Brown, but even then, Terry has turned down multiple opportunities for head coaching job interviews over the past few years, so I don’t see that either.

Regardless of who the coach is or who started the trend at Scott of keeping everyone, it needs to end. 1 or 2, sure. Need someone on the inside who knows the players, and if HC is out of towner, knows the community. But the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. If you are a serious head coach, you should know before you take a job at least a few guys that will come with you, regardless of how many teacher spots are open. If you don’t, and haven’t thought about that before, or have no one to bring a) you are in for a world of hurt b) you aren’t serious about the role you are about to find yourself in c) people don’t like you LOL!

Correct, which is exactly why I was excited. I guess I should have elaborated more, as people thought I had meant, by leading the charge, that he just showed up, and therefore could still be looking at another job. But yes, I was told via that text that he and his staff were running the program, no longer using their S&C coach. (Which is a different story, guess EE has been very unhappy with strength and development of the team, and was awakened during the Boyle game.) I’d have a hard time believing if he was leaving, his last act would be, hey kids, we are switching things up, just for them to have to go back to last year’s offseason a couple weeks later.

Just received a text with some good news that will allow me to sleep soundly tonight, unless Michigan loses, but the Colonels started their off season program this evening, and Coach Eviston was there leading the charge.

100% agree with you. I was just making note of all names mentioned in the thread as 2 new names were just mentioned(Court & Hacker). I have no idea whether or not any of these guys or interested, much less applied. Obviously, Rash did not. He was mentioned as a joke.
