I am one of the ones that mentioned "homerun hire". I say that for several reasons 1. He is young and energetic. He will bring "the juice" to the program. 2. He is a defensive guy who coached DC in the college level. 3. He was a strength and conditioning guy at other programs and will instill the weight training program to another level. 4. Have you seen Lex Catholic defense lately in the past few years? They have been close to being awful. Sure they can score in bunches, but they stop can't seem to stop anyone from scoring either. 5A. Compare him the the previous coach, I would say 100% better and 5B. Honest question, who was out there that applied is worthy of hiring?

It’s a “young” state tournament unlike the All- A right. So perhaps as more participants play, it might grow into a pretty good state tournament. I believe 32 teams participated, 4 teams in each section and winners made the elite 8 in Owensboro.

Definitely a “home run” hire. Congrats Coach Bathiany.

I know one program has over 70, probably more applicants (some out of state) so it might take a while to sort the qualified ones. But yeah IMO I would rather wait a little longer and hire the right fit for certain programs.

The smallest or small schools and the mediumistic to medium schools lol. Like it was mentioned, 1A/ 2A in football terms and 3A/ 4A.

I still think even with a losing record, Dunbar might and can make a lot of noise in the 11th. Just because they have 2 great outside shooters, but no inside presence. Henry Clay are very athletic team, Lex Cath has a solid squad with, young contributors and inside presence and Mad Central are the defending 11th region champ, well coached team and have some good returning players.

Yeah but what would you want them to do? LOL Those are their district foes, with the exception of Cincy Elder/ Beechwood.

With the exception of maybe Paintsville, Bell Co and Middlesboro, GC pretty much played teams that were within 60ish miles round trip ?

If he did apply, Matthews should be their pick for the next HC. OC their team during state run years, left and went back to Shelby Valley, but since return as an OC for Lafayette last season.

I'd say CAL and KC above bracket, LC and Mason Co below bracket final 4, just my opinion.

Exactly my thought, and if he does have time to watch his kid at Huntington, that’s only a 2.5 hrs drive from Versailles. If anything, Chad will stay local and apply for a nearby HC opening or just stay at Sayre.. just my thought.

Pennington really going to give/ sell his property in Woodford Co? He has land and uses for outdoor workouts and I believe he built a small version indoor facility for his team to have indoor workout.

He still has ties in the Lexington/ Central KY area ?

Is he eligible for Mr. Basketball? I’m not sure what year he is in, cause if he is eligible, he’s got my vote. It’s early in the season, it could change.

How is PLD 5-6, aren’t they favorite in the 11th region from what/ to all coming back from last season? I get it that one of their better player transferred out, but I thought they had everyone back.

I apologize, they got beat by Woodford Co… who in my defense were an 11th region team at one point before leaving to go to another region.

Wait, PLD is in the 11th region right.. and I believe they just beat Mad Cent. but I’m sure when they play each other against on 1-4-22 the outcome may be go MC’s way. My point, no clear cut favorite in the 11th. PLD, Henry Clay, Lex Cath are all balling out right now.

I respect your statement/ opinion, but please follow it up by what team in your opinion will beat NL in their region.
