  1. Will McCracken finally get in the win column vs a 2-0 team out of Tennessee? Or will the stiff competition that McCracken has played in the past two games show that this team can compete!
  2. I heard over the week that Todd County Central Head Coach has resigned. If true would be a tough break for those kids so late into the offseason.
  3. They have posted this job on the TSSAA website meaning they are definitely looking for an outsider.
  4. Per YourSportsEdge.com: A familiar face will be taking over as head football coach at Hopkinsville High School after former Tiger player and defensive coordinator Dustin Lopez was introduced as the school’s choice on Monday. Lopez has been an assistant with the Tigers for ten seasons after coaching for six years in Tennessee. He was named Metro-Nashville Assistant Coach of the Year by the Tennessee Tribune in 2015 and boasts numerous district, regional, and state tournament appearances. Lopez played football and basketball before graduating from Hopkinsville High in 2002. He began his collegiate football career at Minnesota West Community College where he was named Junior College All-American Honorable Mention. Lopez transferred to the University of Memphis for his final two seasons, making 18 starts from 2004-06, before finishing his playing career with three seasons in the Arena Football League. Hopkinsville reached the state semifinals as recently as 2020, but is coming off a 1-9 campaign in 2023 and won just seven games over two seasons under former coach Marc Clark.
  5. I'm hearing they are trying to hire a Coach who was let go from the staff the previous year.
  6. Todd seemed to be very competitive the last few years. Are there any assistants on staff that would be a candidate or any coaches in the area?
  7. This seems to be more of interesting matchups going on in 2A this week. The Rockets come in at (6-4) but they are a top 10 team based on the RPI ratings. The Rebels come in at (5-5) and have a top 15 RPI rating so it seems these two teams aren’t that far apart. Both have a common opponent in OCath whom they both struggled with so this makes for a pretty good matchup.
  8. Definitely a great list! Adler has definitely done one of best jobs in the state being the state of the program before he got there.
  9. I think this would be an interesting topic to highlight some of best coaches in the state of KY. I’ve seen this done in other states, so who would you say are the 40 best coaches in the state at the age 40 and under? Can be HC,Coordinators and assistant coaches on the rise!
  10. It’s not about being fair it’s about being competitive.
  11. I think there should be a competitive factor honestly. If you’ve won a state championship during the realignment period then you are moved up a class regardless of how many boys you have in your schools. I’ve seen other states take this route. Maybe it’s an answer or maybe it’s not.
  12. I think a lot of people underestimated Hendersonville because that lost so badly Oakland. But there isn’t a team in the state of Kentucky that would within 21 points of Oakland and that includes trinity, male or st.x. South should keep playing them or other powerhouses out of state imo.
  13. I also believe there is another coach on Christian County’s staff who has taken a few head coaching interviews this off season. Would that be the current DC? Would he be in the running for the CC job to keep it in house?
  14. Lopez as the DC is public knowledge but everyone knows Clark will run his own offense. Rusty if I’m not mistaken is at a good spot at Trigg.
  15. This is definitely not true and please don’t spread false rumors like that.
  16. I don’t think many of you understand that he’s the coach of the coach of mega school! This was the search and the search is over. It’s now time to see what staff he puts together for the upcoming years.
  17. People close to the situation know the search has been going on. This is the hire and it’s not a bad hire based on the situation. He’s familiar with the area and can relate to the kids. He took SW down the wire his last year at Hoptown but with that being said at the new school if you’re not in at least in semi’s consistently then I give any coach 3 years max until they look in another direction.
  18. Clark is the guy who will take over the new school. It’s not even up for debate.
  19. Clarksville football isn’t good and the coaching there is terrible so for the sake of those programs I hope they wouldn’t go that route.
  20. Outside of the HC at Christian County and the interim coach at HHS there are no assistant’s on either staff that are remotely qualified for the Consolidated school.
  21. Again you’re bashing a coach that did nothing but pull a hoptown program out of drowning water. Went toe to toe with south warren when SW had a 5A roster playing in 4A. You said that 5-1 Christian county era wasn’t good? You might want to check how D1 players they had during that time and the record. This post shouldn’t be about blasting a coach or assuming he has talks with another school. Hoptown will find the best fit for the job as the job has a lot of interest.
  22. Just a thought, if coach Thompson takes them to state in his first year does that give him coach of the year? They were 4-6 rolled into the playoffs and nobody gave them a chance, beat the number 1 team in 3A and sitting one game away from a trip to Lexington. Heck I’d say it’ll make him one of the hottest coaches in the state in just 1 year.
  23. People seem to think cause you have experience you were a good HC. Most of these OLDER guys are stuck their ways and don’t adjust with the innovative ways of football. But keep a HC job because people are afraid of change!
