Looks like the trend now is to hire a young coach that will take his licks the first few years and then quit? I cannot think this guy was the best coach that applied but was the one they wanted? Only one year at the school? You can’t blame this boy for taking the job but soon it will prove if he is ready and dealing with the parents. Hope he does well but it looks dim?

This used to be a good job, looks like now they will go down the road with an unproven assistant coach? It looks like they dropped the bucket on this hire. When you hook the big fish you need to get him in the boat no matter what reel you are using!!!!’

It is not a good situation. Jaggers is a great young coach and was the type they needed for this rebuilding phase. They will be hard pressed to find a coach this late in the game. Union has great athletes and I would say they have more going for them at this time. Several wrestling state championships? The right person can get this program back but it will take some time and money?

But they don’t? Most schools pay what is on their scale. No more under the table money.

If you look at the pay the Trigg job is about 5K less than what he is making now. Throw in his wife and it would be about a 8K cut. Would you pack up and move to a place that will not be a winner for at least 3 years for that big of a paycut? the district Trigg is in really makes it hard to finish higher than third? not a very good job to take right now?

I hear that Jaggers pulled out of the process over salary. They may be going after Lovelace at this time. It will be over by Friday!

From what I was told it is from the Central part of the state, still checking my sources. Money may be an issue as Hopkins Co school do not pay much!

I am hearing that the Maroons have made a big time coach an offer that will be hard to turn down?

No one has stayed in coaching at Madisonville very long the last few hires? I wonder why this is? Trigg and Madisonville are both in a tough district. Hopkins Central has success last year with a Middle school coach so I guess experience right now is not a plus???

Who is the AD at Madisonville?

Jay did a pretty good job. It was at a very low point when he took over from the last coach. You really have to throw this season out as the COVID-19 wiped out many games and practices. The new coach will need to clean house and get a new staff and maybe he will be able to turn this around quick!

I am hearing that Coby Lewis is interested and may be the candidate they are looking to hire. They have hired from the Trigg pool before with Dixie Jones and Shannon Burcham. Would be a great hire!

He may end up like KyKy Tandy? Will not go to UK to sit on the bench. If he thinks he can play there he will go, if not look for him to land in a place that offers PT. I would not go to UK to just have the best seat in the house to want a game and hear all of the talk on sports radio on why the kid is not playing over 5 star Joe.

I hear that Frankie Smith has looked into this position and may be ready for a return to Kentucky?
