What rabbit will Coach Ruthsatz and Coach Fredrick pull out of their hat for next year after graduating their Mr. Everything from the past 3 seasons? Heard rumors of Athens McGillis heading back over to OH next year in addition to rumors of Warmuth (sp?) joining Harney in heading to CCH from Beechwood. Also heard Jeff Ruby has a grandson eyeing CCH for next year. Hussey, Johnson, Steward and N. Ruthsatz are going to be major players on the team next year. I expect to see alot out of Bradshaw too.

Why so indignant? Elder fan has early inside knowledge on future student athlete at Elder. Sure, makes sense. Checks out 100. Elder fan has early inside knowledge on coach interviewing at a completely different school. Is it that inconceivable to you that that info might not be so spot-on reliable? So if a CCH insider comes out with info on a student who will be semi-surprisingly headed to CCH, that checks out. But you're telling me that a few years ago, if a CCH insider started trying to break news about how they were secretly in the know about who was and wasn't interviewing for the Highlands head coaching job, that there wouldn't be some Birds fans rolling their eyes over how good the info was or wasn't? -

Maybe consider not starting all your players both ways and think about coaching them to just be offensive linemen instead of coaching them to play both ways? Just an idea. -

If those are really all the teams were scheduling, I'll assume that was EE looking to put together a schedule where he can continue to do nothing but call QB draws and screen passes but still win games. I don't think I've seen a more boring schedule since the mid 80's. -

Why in the world? Because push-back. -
I realize we're getting the best of the best efforts from every team we play, but it sure seems like Coach Ruthsatz has struggled an awful lot this year to get four solid quarters of basketball out of his team each game. If he can crack that nut then there aren't gonna be many teams that can beat CCH come tournament time.

Ahh, the old "sure you can play any sport you want, so long as you don't miss a single one of my workouts or practices" trick. Or did you mean the old "sure you can play any sport you want, just don't ever expect me to start you" trick? Both tricks are nixed by the "well I guess you can play any sport you want, because you're naturally talented enough to be at least a 2 year starter on my team" magic pass.

You can count on it that if BW doesn't schedule Highlands, there are going to be Birds snarking it up about BW ducking Highlands.

I was asking whether that was true or false. And if you're left believing that there was no discussion with the Crone family about Chase attending Cov Cath, then you aren't as informed about your 'Neers as you think you are. -

Hearing some SK starting linemen are headed to CCH. True? False? -

Hate the loss but it will build character. Learn some lessons, and move on. -
Somebody do me a favor and let me know if the public address announcer at FD refuses to call any of the visiting players by name again this week. Pretty low brow move for a grown adult to refuse to acknowledge athletes for making plays in a high school game. Bush league, actually. Go Jackets. Crush the Broncs.

EE isn't a great play caller when he isn't loaded down with talent. -

Really nice win for a team that's still awfully banged up! -

So let me ask you this. You seem to have taken exception to Wirth's lazy offensive scheme where he relied heavily on running just a couple of different plays. Do you not think it's a problem that EE clearly relies heavily on only running a couple of different plays? Or is it okay when one does it but not okay when the other does? -

Beating a team by 11 points when they're missing multiple starters and playing with multiple injured starters is an embarrassment? Interesting. -

I've met EE many times, so don't trouble yourself with it. And Wirth had bubble screen right, bubble screen left, but 80% or EE's play calling is QB draws and screens, with an occasional dive thrown in for good measure. I've been vocally critical of EE's draw/screen offensive "plan" since 2020. This is nothing quick. If anything, this is a long, drawn out, three year long process of uninspired play calling. -

EE: "They are never going to expect that I'll run a quarterback sneak! That's why they call it a sneak. Because the other team never ever suspects it. Even if you run it a bare minimum of 32 times a game every single game". CCH's play calling was uninspired, boring and predictable as could be. They had to have had a dozen penalties in the game. A team not being disciplined is a coaching issue. Especially after a whole extra week off to get tuned up. EE needs to realize that he is coaching 5A and not 2A and cut the iron man football crap out. There is no damn reason that in a 5A school that every starter who gets injured should mean losing a starter on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball both. Tonight I watched a head coach phone one in. Disappointing. -
