Judging from how many times I've read in this thread about how bad the Highlands play calling was, I've got to think Sphire the Younger has a lot of learning to do, and fast, if he wants to try to take over as HC without having the whole Highlands athletic department run off Memorial Parkway on a rail.

He definitely thinks he's next in line to be the Birds HC. Highlands faculty members have reported he was pretty openly touting that early on in the regime change. Some versions I've heard even have Sphire the Elder having conversations with his protégé in the AD office trying to broker that deal as well.

Feels like a lot of folks are under-selling Ryle if you ask me. I'm rooting for CCH, but I see I'm not the only one who thinks Ryle is a strong team.

It's the old "I heard that he heard that" scenario, but I've heard from numerous people who have said Griffin is already back at Anderson. The folks I've heard from generally turn out to be accurate sources. So I'm assuming his stint playing high school hoops in Kentucky is, in fact, over.

I hadn't heard any specifics whether it was a KHSAA hearing or an actual court hearing. I had just heard "hearing" and assumed it was a court hearing. After asking around, I do believe it is a KHSAA appeal hearing coming up and not a court hearing.

Sounds eerily similar to all of Cam Giesler's transferring around, doesn't it? Gee, I wish the KHSAA would be more consistent enforcing their rules, don't you?

Haven't heard too much on this year's freshman team aside from folks morning the loss of the Queen kid to Elder. I know they do have a pretty solid DE/OT/TE coming in. Jonny Lind. Another nice OL/DL named Colin Vinson. There's a WR named Cogswell. Curious if he's the son of Chad or Kevin.

So Pitzer is currently QB1, Gaiser is QB2 and Harney is QB3. Harney's court hearing challenging the KHSAA's reversal on their eligibility ruling is coming up. If he is ruled eligible in court he will likely be starting at safety. I saw somewhere in the thread asking if Donovan Bradshaw is still playing football. I believe so, can someone confirm?

And the Cooper basketball team was just so upset about Ohio transfers showing up at CCH only a couple of years ago that they tried to organize a boycott of voluntarily scheduling CCH. Well, well, well, how the turn tables.

Saw on FB that they've renamed the field from Wooten Field at Griffin Stadium to Arts Rental Field at Griffin Stadium. I guess that means Mr. Rowe has moved on from the Griffin/Drees/Zembrodt families and hitched his donation wagon to the Arlinghauses until he wrings them dry, LOL. Is the field going to get renamed every time they replace the turf? This must be an official note to the Wooten family and CCH donors that if you don't keep donating they'll rename that stuff right out from under you, LOL. If that's the case I guess it's not gonna be Jerry Collins Baseball field for much longer. And watch out Yung family, that tennis center will get renamed in a heartbeat if you don't keep the greenbacks flowing.

How are things at St. Henry? I know the business manager at the grade school is a real peach and he and the pastor have run off the principal and some faculty members. Obviously a different relationship there between the high school and the parish, but I'm hearing tell of some unhappy Cru families and the possibility of that turning into folks heading elsewhere. Any truth to the rumors?

The Wermuth transfer has been a done deal for a couple of months. Same as Miller.

Word around the water cooler is that Pitzer has thrown a surprising number of picks in spring ball, and EE issued a warning in no uncertain terms that he has two quarterbacks he's ready to replace him with. Does that mean Harney is officially eligible with the KHSAA? Anyone heard anything on that front?

Any word whether or not Harney is working out as a QB?

Caleb toured CCH and Moe with Caden. Caleb said they're touring Moe as a favor to Doug Rosfeld and a couple of other friends with Moeller ties. He's been seen around town in a CCH shirt and a CCH sweatshirt tho so if they're buying the gear, that tells me a thing or two.
