Montgomery County 86 Bracken County 63

Personally I think a 23 point loss is too much to overcome by Monday, even for the “best coach ever” apparently. -
South Oldham vs. Henry County Predictions/Updates
BigRob replied to ColonelMike's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Was this unexpected? I know South is at another level from what Henry County has been playing and to have any chance, Hardin needed to stay out of foul trouble. -

That is correct. They are missing him. Still a very good team, but he is a difference maker. -

I saw where the transfer to Holy Cross hit 5 three pointers tonight against St. Henry in the All "A" tournament. Big Big Loss for them. -

I'm looking forward to seeing the Holy Cross/Beechwood game. I think Beechwood is athletic, but not in that group. They just seem to be missing something. Not sure what it is, but something. -
Ryle is still in the region? right?

Holy Cross has McClendon back and he played tonight. He totally changes the offense for them. They didn't force shots tonight and he drove and kicked out to Robinson who hit 5 three pointers tonight. He is shooting nearly 60% from deep, with like 15 made threes. With Meyer being able to attack at will, I think they can compete with anyone. This was McClendon's first game. I just watched it on the NCC Athletic page, so no eye witness account. Going to be interesting for sure -

I would still place them behind Holy Cross. I was watching the finals of the All A region and if they made those free throws they may have beaten the Cru. Anyway you look at it, the 9th is loaded and I am just super happy to be able to talk basketball. -

Grant is playing decent ball for such a young team. They would still be pretty good if it wasn't that so many players of older ages left. -

Marion has some real good players too. How did it end up so lopsided? -

Great game tonight! The Cru played much of second half without Vieth on the floor due to fouls. Should be a good game tomorrow with Holy Cross -

Conner was missing two big starters. I would say a different outcome if they play -

Dixie top 5? Little reach I think. They beat a Conner team missing two big starters, but I'll give them credit tonight. They played great. -
He is a phenomenal player. Can really score. Only thing is he really needs to get his teammates involved more if they plan on doing something special this year. When McClendon gets back they will have four on the court that can score anytime. Ball movement needs to happen more and they could compete against any team in the region. They say that great players make their teammates great. I hope this happens for Holy Cross. Very fun team to watch.

BluegrassPreps.com 9th Region Boys Basketball Preview
BigRob replied to Ballfan34's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
You forgot that Holy Cross has a transfer in Blake Robinson this year. He averaged nearly 11 points and 4.5 rebounds last year at Grant County. He is a very high IQ player that can really shoot. Can't wait to watch him benefit from those quick guards they have and vice versa. I would put them up there challenging anyone this year. -
Does CovCath baskeball have a new center?
BigRob replied to The Oracle's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I feel bad for the kids that have grown up always wanting to play for Cov Cath and has worked hard to achieve it, only to have these transfers come in. Sure they are building a strong team, but they are going to lose all those young kids that are good, but not good enough for this particular coach. They always had a strong team, even when they didn't have these "transfers" -

Conner 78 Beechwood 59 (9th Region Quarterfinal)
BigRob replied to B-Ball-fan's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Game wasn’t as close as the 19 point margin. Conner controlled all aspects of the game. They moved the ball very well and when they do that, hard to beat! Looking forward to watching them and Highlands -
A lot of close looks for them. They really should keep pounding it under. They’ve hit a few threes I think. Robinson with 2 and Guffey with 1. But now it’s Coach Jones time. He has always been one of my favorites and what he gets out the boys. Let’s see how the second half goes, but after watching the first half, Grant just looks like they are a 12-15 point better team.
