Not sure on that either. I did say I’d have to guess, so that’s just me publicizing my opinion. I really don’t know the answer. Just my thoughts.

I’m not very close to that situation or the Hergotts, but if I had to guess, his uncle being on the coaching staff played a much bigger role than BW did.

Wonder when the Beechwood schedule will be finalized. Excited to see how Noel and the rest of the team go about scheduling. I know I listened to him talk about RPI a couple of times and how he said he doesn’t quite understand it and will schedule the best teams he sees fit to prepare them for the playoffs. Wonder who those teams will be!

Good news to hear! I wasn’t aware of the transfer but with all the options, I’m excited to see who is QB1 heading into week 1.

Only losing 3 starters on defense has to have Rash excited to coach on that side of the ball next year. The defense was great this year, with lots of underclassmen playing significant roles. If the Tigers are slow to figure it out on offense next year, I think they’ll be quite alright with how stout I expect the defense to be. I’m extremely excited to see the off-season progression of this team. I think a repeat will be very tough to do, but not out of reach.

Absolutely agree. I think the defense gets even stronger this year coming up! You lose some contributors, but their predecessors I think will fill in like nothing happened, and that’s not a knock towards what was a great defense. I just think the underclass men is so loaded!

It is absolutely not bare. I’m excited to see the choice. I know LCA brings back a ton but I don’t think BW is far off from that team. You’d think LCA is #1 and BW #2 in the EXTREMELY EARLY pre season rankings right?

I hope the BW faithful are correct. LCA will be the #1 team going into next year with how much they return. If the QB position gets filled quickly, giving that player plenty of time to adjust to being QB1, and that player steps in and does their job, the tigers will be just fine. Of course easier said than done now that you have to find somebody to replace a 3 year starter. I know it was said in another post that BW will adapt the offense to who they have at QB, I see that being what they do again next year. There’s not another Cam Hergott in the pipeline, but they do have some kids who can step into that role and be successful. The question is of course who will that be?

They do lose some pivotal seniors that will be incredibly difficult to replace, but nonetheless I expect this team to be a semifinals team again next year, based on the talent they have returning and the talent they have getting older. The tigers are going nowhere anytime soon.

I can only hope he didn’t get put to an all state team because he’s going to win Mr. Football. One could only hope though. The kid is so deserving it’s ridiculous. You beat the team Sherron didn’t, in the state finals and you get honorable mention? Come on. We’ve read the stats, on who is better. I don’t get these awards. Never will.

I was curious of what they will do with Waddell. He’s a stud and is easily as good as the starting linebacker core. You have Berger, Hatfield, Courtney. None of which are seniors, so do you get Waddell on the field at another position or does a LB move to another position and Waddell takes their place? I could see Courtney being moved to corner to replace Cole Stammer. But it’s hard to see Waddell being anywhere other than LB with just how well he plays that position.

On the bright side the Beechwood coaching staff is one of the best in the business! You have Pangallo who got minutes this year, Sowder a freshman this year, and O’Shea who played JV/F QB last year, and warmed up this year at QB as well. I don’t think they have another Mr. football candidate up next, but the Tigers will find a way to get it done.

Think he was saying it’s apparent that Hergott will need replaced but if there’s no line to protect the next QB, it doesn’t matter who they put under center.

Loved everything about this post, except one thing. O’Shea who caught that OT touchdown, that was his second receiving touchdown of the year. Excellent play call in the perfect time to do it. They’ve ran that play only a handful of times with it only being successful to my knowledge throughout the season once. ? GO Tigers!

My thoughts as well. Hearing they have a good passing defense made me question just how good are the QB’s they’ve played. As much as everyone seems to believe BW doesn’t run the ball well I think Hergott’s play just overshadows Avery Courtney and Cole Stammer. When they’ve gotten the ball they’ve done very well. Both great running backs and if they can keep their footing, can have a big night come Friday. Hergott also killed Breathitt with his legs last week. He runs like that again, all while going 100% in the air, the game might be a running clock.

Have they played against a QB at the caliber of Hergott?

I know we can’t expect a perfect system but come on. ??

Strength of schedule doesn’t get put into the equation if I’m not mistaken. A huge flaw of the RPI.

A natural surface field can definitely be a uncomfortable thing for the tigers.

The two Linebackers who stepped up to fill those roles played excellent last night! Waddell and Hughes were all over the field making plays! I believe Hughes made the stop on the goal one to give the tigers the ball back! The pipeline is rich that is for sure!
