  1. Does this mean we get to talk about 6th place in 6a again this week??????
  2. That’s quite the impact for a football game. What happened?
  3. Absolutely! did you catch what that penalty was I asked about earlier. I looked away and missed it.
  4. Owensboro runs the kickoff to the 3. Offsetting penalties wipe each other out. PAT good. 34-18
  5. Dontae Dixon goes 74 yards on the first play after the kickoff. Some kind of penalty after the TD moved the ball back. 2-point conversion attempt no good. 27-18 @Browndid you catch the penalty?
  6. Touchdown and PAT for OHS = 27-12 6:07 in the 1st half
  7. KHSAA bylaws carry the weight of law in our state. It sounds like the Commissioner did the only thing he could do.
  8. McCracken fell into the same trap as Graves Co did in the late 80’s/early 90’s. At Graves up until the 2000-2001 school year, there were 7 elementary/middle schools. I attended one of them. Each of those 7 elementary schools had their own football programs of different grade levels. In their 7th grade year, all of those players consolidated into one Graves Co 7th grade team. As an example, my middle school had enough athletes to field a full team of 5th and 6th graders, but when my 6th grade class moved up to 7th grade exact 3 players moved on to the consolidated team. The better approach would have been for those seven schools to develop seven full teams with the varsity coach driving the ship as far as offensive and defensive schemes, drills, etc. That’s the approach Alan Hatcher took with the 7 middle school basketball programs in that county that led to his success and ultimately to Graves being more of a basketball school.
  9. Such a heated conversation over 6th place. I’ve never once seen a team run circles around the goal post chanting “yea! We’re number 6! Yea! We’re number 6! Number 6 or bust, baby!!!!” Pretty sure number six sits at home watching with numbers 3-10 while 1 and 2 finish the season.
  10. Should have been on the sideline! Personally, I thought it would be a battle. When Catholic jumped out ahead two TD’s in 3 minutes, it took the wind out of the sails. I still stand behind Coach Edge. That wasn’t the best Apollo team in the field last night. This coming Friday against Owensboro will be tough, but by week 3, I think they’ll be much-improved. One thing that shows to be true to me more and more every season is that NOTHING is being taught at the middle school level in this county in any sport. Someone has to get control of that situation.
  11. End of 3rd quarter Catholic 35, Apollo 6. OCath QB still on sideline. Unsure if it’s precautionary.
  12. Catholic QB hobbles off field. Being attended to on the sideline as the game continues. Best wishes to the kid. He’s good.
  13. Catholic gets about eleventy-seven yards in penalties then throws a prayer into the end zone. 21-6 catholic 5:23 left in the first half
  14. I’ve had my phone in my pocket. Aces off to a fast start with two touchdowns in the first few minutes. Apollo answered with one of their own. Currently 14-6 OCath with 9:28 in the 2nd.
  15. I can't wait to be back on the sidelines with the Eagles! Administrative change has a buzz in the building that I haven't felt in a couple of years. The football team has a buzz about it as well. I think it may be a big season for the boys on Tamarack Road.
  16. I just saw this on Twitter, and was wondering if anyone could provide more details. The way I interpreted the snippet of info: a basketball team was attempting to raise money for flood victims out of season, and the KHSAA has refused to grant a waiver citing a membership decision from a year ago. What was the initial vote in reference to? What was the scope of the proposed fundraiser? What are you thoughts?
  17. Graves - Marshall Mayfield - Graves Carlisle - Hickman Apollo - Daviess McLean - Muhlenberg - Ohio Co
  18. All kinds of technicals, real and imagined, helping Meade Co this postseason. More power to them for capitalizing.
  19. These players and their attitudes have made HS basketball hard to watch. 75% of the games I’ve watched this year with teams from various places in the state have turned into a chippy mess. Coaches excuse it by saying “he plays with passion,” and “I love his competitiveness.” The truth is, the coaches are just failing to teach their kids mental toughness. They can’t handle a loss.
