  1. Logan Verax has 2258 passing yards, 68.7 comp %, 15 TD's, 6 INT. He leads 6A in passing yards, completions, and completion % among all starters. Ryle has played a tougher schedule and has wins over both Cooper and SK, who Dixie lost to. I understand Gregg runs the ball too, but Verax was Ryle's leading rusher for weeks this year as well. Gregg had a great season. I suspect this game will be very close, Verax > Gregg.
  2. Train wreck is a great way to describe their offense. From the game prep, play designs, tempo, and play calls. Complete disaster. With a good offense, they’d be dangerous.
  3. I believe Ryle is only starting 3 seniors. A lot of Sophomores starting in key positions: 2 WR's, 2 LB's, 2 DB's, 2 OL, plus backup QB and RB.
  4. Only making your point if you believe Cooper and Dixie are capable of pulling off an upset that would have any bearing on the 5A championship. I don’t think many around the state believe that. Highlands rolled Dixie and were rolling Cooper when they took their foot off the gas. Good teams, but not championship caliber.
  5. Well, I’d argue that if Cooper or Dixie beat Highlands, then Highlands wasn’t #1 to begin with. And none would compete with the 6A giants.
  6. So 5A #7 vs #10 playing for 2nd place matters more than 6A #9 vs #10 playing for a district championship? Lol Again, none are real contenders for a state championship. To each their own I guess.
  7. I doubt anyone from Lex/Lou is that interested in Dixie/Cooper either, but I enjoy any game 859 does!
  8. I guess, but considering Ryle beat Cooper and SK beat Dixie in addition to this being for a district title, I think many would argue the Ryle/SK game is for more marbles. Very doubtful Cooper or Dixie will have much impact on the state tournament. 2 solid teams, but firmly outside the top tier of 5A as is SK and Ryle.
  9. Great info! I was referring to when they opened up as a school.
  10. That surprised me considering SK had a 50+ year head start.
  11. Hard to tell, but again, Beechwood was without their best player when playing Highlands. I watched him play. He probably leads their team in both TD‘s and tackles if I had to guess. Now you add Fryman, who without question is the best NKY Freshman, I think you have a really good game. I don’t think there are any 3 players from Highlands that could contain him. Not taking anything away from Highlands squad. Very good team.
  12. 50 points....lol. Good point and I'm not sure. What I do know is he could single handedly be a major problem on both sides of the ball for any Freshman team. Also, wasn't 2 of Beechwood's best players out vs Highlands this year? Their receiver does most of the damage on offense and is a great defensive player too. I heard he was out. With both of them on the field, it would be a fantastic game.
  13. You’re missing the point. Pulling the best 8th players improves this year’s freshman team. I’m not saying schools should do it, but as a coach, I’d rather assemble the best players from 2 classes than one.
  14. That is an advantage for Beechwood. Most teams best 8th graders would improve their Freshman team. That stated, no NKY Freshman team could stop Fryman if he was playing…including Highlands.
  15. Very hard to disagree with this. After tonight’s performance, it certainly feels like he should save everyone the trouble and step down. Him and the rest of the staff. Ryle needs a fresh start.
  16. Looking like a 4 team race w/ Ryle at the top spot for now. #1 Ryle #2 CCHS #3 Highlands #4 Beechwood #5 Cooper #6 Conner #7 Boone County #8 SK #9 Dixie
  17. Ryle did well against Highlands this year in the live scrimmage. Both their Sophomore and Junior classes beat Highlands as Frosh. Last year was a beat down and Ryle didn’t have 2 of their best players. Hard to accept that they’re not as talented, but agree to disagree.
  18. Highlands is definitely not more talented, just more experienced. Ryle is starting about 5 or so Sophomores, a few that start both ways. Wouldn’t suprise me if they ultimately have close to 10 college football players from their roster. With that stated, HHS should be a slight favorite in this game playing at home. Should be a good one.
