As mentioned, Ryle had no cupcakes. 8 of their 11 games they were underdogs or at best, evenly matched games. The other 3 were Campbell County, Conner, and Great Crossings who aren’t push overs. I would assume that with a weaker schedule, his All State #’s would look even better.

I did edit because the term he used was “highest” when discussing his negative cherry picked, seemingly off topic stat. QB metrics can be very deceiving. There are many to choose from. He chose to bring his TD/INT one from left field in response to someone else’s nice overview of NKY’s top QB’s. It seemed like a dig at one of the state’s top QB’s to me.

Really? RO first used a cherry picked metric to apparently undermine his season. Maybe I misunderstood, but it certainly felt off topic and like a shot. If it wasn’t, by bad. All those QB’s had great seasons.

He also played a much harder schedule. Safe to assume his TD's would be significantly higher with similar SOS as others in NKY. Harder to get in the end zone vs faster, better players.

Don’t disagree he’s a good choice and a great player, but the facts are: Ryle won the district, had a much harder schedule, and rarely do you see a QB who leads the state in those stats get snubbed. I’d feel differently if SK won the district.

Logan Verax? Leads 6A in passing yards, completions, 2nd in completion % vs one of the toughest schedules in KY. Should have been a no brainer!

If Ryle continues to play like they did vs Dixie, they belong in group 2. Especially if PRP is in. That was my point.

That looks about right. Ryle had a good showing vs Dixie that makes me think they could be in Group 2. They are also higher than PRP and Bullitt East in RPI and CalPreps, so Madden isn't the only one who places them there.

Looks right. Would love to see Ryle vs Beechwood. Preseason scrimmage was very close. Would be an interesting game.

Congrats to Beechwood. Great season. Wish Ryle could have stayed healthy this year. After beating CCHS they have been playing without multiple key players. Great job by their coaches keeping them in the mix!

I only like a playoff when needed for Frosh. If one team stands alone undefeated (like last year) then what’s the point? By the end of the season, the better players are finding their way onto the JV/Varsity teams. Many of which aren’t permitted to play, so technically it’s not the best players/teams anyways. This year’s “bowl-like” format seems to be the best of both worlds. Allow a champion be crowned without having unnecessary first round blowouts. However, if I coached a team that ran the table, I’d prefer those kids have a week or two of JV/Varsity experience over additional Frosh games.

Logan Verax has 2258 passing yards, 68.7 comp %, 15 TD's, 6 INT. He leads 6A in passing yards, completions, and completion % among all starters. Ryle has played a tougher schedule and has wins over both Cooper and SK, who Dixie lost to. I understand Gregg runs the ball too, but Verax was Ryle's leading rusher for weeks this year as well. Gregg had a great season. I suspect this game will be very close, Verax > Gregg.

Train wreck is a great way to describe their offense. From the game prep, play designs, tempo, and play calls. Complete disaster. With a good offense, they’d be dangerous.

I believe Ryle is only starting 3 seniors. A lot of Sophomores starting in key positions: 2 WR's, 2 LB's, 2 DB's, 2 OL, plus backup QB and RB.

Only making your point if you believe Cooper and Dixie are capable of pulling off an upset that would have any bearing on the 5A championship. I don’t think many around the state believe that. Highlands rolled Dixie and were rolling Cooper when they took their foot off the gas. Good teams, but not championship caliber.

Well, I’d argue that if Cooper or Dixie beat Highlands, then Highlands wasn’t #1 to begin with. And none would compete with the 6A giants.

So 5A #7 vs #10 playing for 2nd place matters more than 6A #9 vs #10 playing for a district championship? Lol Again, none are real contenders for a state championship. To each their own I guess.

I doubt anyone from Lex/Lou is that interested in Dixie/Cooper either, but I enjoy any game 859 does!

I guess, but considering Ryle beat Cooper and SK beat Dixie in addition to this being for a district title, I think many would argue the Ryle/SK game is for more marbles. Very doubtful Cooper or Dixie will have much impact on the state tournament. 2 solid teams, but firmly outside the top tier of 5A as is SK and Ryle.
