  1. Do they live in Silver Grove? If not, I'm not sure how you could justify a transfer as being for any reason besides athletic if it is known you are going back to Highlands after the season. If they live in Silver Grove wouldn't that have made him a tuition student at Highlands? Does that leave Highlands the ability to deny re-entry? I have no dog in the fight, just very confused about how this worked out!
  2. You have to factor in strength of schedule as well though. Looking at your argument UCF needs to be in too. They're undefeated. This is not an argument for OSU as I feel Notre Dame should get the nod over them as well, but undefeated vs not, should not be the be all end all.
  3. Saw this on Twitter last night, but Andy has "Gamekeeper's Thumb," which is interesting to say the least. Gamekeeper's thumb is an insufficiency of the ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) of the metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joint of the thumb. [1] The injury occurred as the gamekeepers sacrificed game such as rabbits by breaking the animals' necks between the thumb and index finger of the gamekeeper and the ground. As a result, a valgus force was placed onto the abducted metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joint, leading to a ruptured ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) injury and chronic attritional injury that resulted in instability, which was accompanied by pain and weakness of the pinch grasp.
  4. Reds top 5 free agent signings of all time. Without much noise from the Reds as of late, I thought this link could be an interesting read. One take away I had was the first 3 being guys that Jim Bowden saw as valuable even when they were considered castoffs from other teams. I had forgotten about the pretty good run Jim Bowden had in Cincy.
  5. Good for Brossart. Are they in position to surprise some people this year?
  6. If he were still at Highlands he wouldn't have played Latin to even see a third of those points.
  7. Calvary also has Josh Moran who can absolutely light it up. Had a handful of 20+ point games as well as one or two in the 30's. It'll make it more competitive, but I think the Calvary supporting cast will be what pulls them through.
  8. I loved what the two schools did with the "Hoops for Heart" campaign at the game. As someone else said in the game thread, a predictable outcome and weather likely caused this to be less of a turnout than usual. I'd love to see the two schools continue this tradition in a varsity double header. Ludlow and someone comparable, followed by CovCath and a team that will draw quite a crowd. Then donate all of those proceeds. Again, this is not a gripe, as I absolutely support and love the idea, but just an idea to make it even greater going forward.
  9. The bucket list thread concerning golf got me thinking about my bucket list in life. What are some things on your bucket list? 1. Attend any game of any World Series 2. Eat a meal prepared by a world class chef 3. See a Bengals playoff win
  10. The fact that the play being discussed resulted in a left ankle sprain is unreal!
  11. We all are well aware of the answer to this question, but I ask it anyway. The Bengals started the year 4-1... They have won one game since then, and that was because Winston got confused which jersey he was wearing.... how is Marvin Lewis still the coach today?
  12. I can agree with that argument on Lincoln Riley, and his defense is leaving a lot to be desired as well. Time will tell.
  13. 1. Nick Saban 2. Dabo Sweeney 3. Kirby Smart 4. Urban Meyer 5. Chris Peterson 6. Lincoln Riley 7. Brian Kelly Now if we're basing it off overall resume, I would rank him around where you did, but as far as me starting a new team today, and I can go sign whoever I want, those 6 rank above him.
  14. Tom Herrman in a big game is tough to beat. His offense will score points, and I'm willing to bet they will be fun to watch. The problem is when playing Oklahoma is you can score 50 and it doesn't guarantee you a win.
  15. Even if there was turmoil at first, Coach Snapp does a great job pulling a team together.
  16. I'm not crazy about the resume of either team, but the best part of this thread title is that is doesn't ask if UCF should be there too.
  17. Denver defense forced 4 turnovers! Including 2 Ben picks!
  18. Phillip Lindsay going off! 110 yards on only 14 carries! 7.9 yards per carry. Wow! O yeah, and 1 TD!
  19. Case Keenum controlling the game! 15 for 28 for 197 yards and 2 TD's!
  20. Bronco's win with a never die attitude! Battle to the end to thwart a Steelers drive at the end of the game!
  21. The band was on the field! I have no affiliation with either school, and wasn't even born yet. However, this is always a play that I could watch on a loop. It blows my mind, extra players on the field, band members on the field, etc.
  22. I agree, but my thing with Pete Rose is don't ever agree to the lifetime ban from baseball then. I understand that MLB and the Hall of Fame are not exactly the same entity, but he literally agreed to the ban. I also have to wonder how it would have worked out for him if he wasn't an absolute punk and rubbed the gambling in faces every time he sees a dollar. Commercials like he has talking about Kangaroof being a "sure bet" do him no good when he's going to file yet another appeal and claim sympathy. You can't claim to know what you did was wrong and be ashamed by it then live in Vegas and have commercials, etc, dancing around the subject.
  23. I can only imagine. Adidas getting popped probably cost him at least a couple hundred grand while playing college ball. He was much more profitable when he was able to play.
