Definitely agree. Anyone can be beat on a given night.

Cov Cath has built a nice pipeline of talent through the feeder schools. They seem to always have a good freshmen team.

I am pulling for Newport to win this game. The winner of this game will likely win the 9th region all a title.

I have a true feeling that some of the ppl on this site do not really watch basketball or know what they are watching. But back to the original post, not a big surprise that Conner beat Dixie but I am surprised that it was by 20+

I agree that there are ways to ease the score of a game like this but some of the suggestions I have seen on here are a total mockery of a high school Varsity game. I would make sure that starters dont play after halftime, make sure that players 8-12 played the majority of the minutes, no pressing, no fast breaking, 2-3 zone inside the 3 point arc. There was no way that Mason Co knew when this game was scheduled that Newport would be in the disarray that they are in or I imagine they would not have made the trip for the game.

Right. If this was the score and the team pressed the whole game I would have something against it but I dont think that this was the case.

As someone that has been on both sides of a score like this, I disagree with telling players not to shoot. Its not fair to the players who train and work hard daily that they have to stop their progress just because they are scheduled against a weaker opponent. You play who is on your schedule.

Im interested in seeing Male this year. I know they had a very young but talented JV last year but the Varsity lost their center.

I honestly dont think that Holmes will ever have a run like they just had until some changes are made. They have some pieces that need to be motivated by the right person. Just seeing the team's demeanor before, during and after the game there is a huge disconnect in this program.

Who is the leader on their team this year?

Holmes has taken a major step back but all of the blame can not be placed on the players. The administration did a bad job of hiring a coach. Im not saying that the present head coach is a bad person but she is not right for this job. Until the program can get back on one accord, they will not see success.

I hate to rain on their parade but Ludlow's record is what it should be based on who they have played. Lets not crown them before they earn it. Beating Cooper this year doesnt mean much.

Im not that surprised by them at all because of the way the JV team looked last year. They did add Lind this season but she is not enough to win games. They will get a few wins but I dont see them winning more than 7.

Lets say he wasnt gonna get a fair shake at Highlands, why not leave and go somewhere that he is gonna get to play his senior year? He is a good kid and Im happy he is gonna get to play.
