I don't know who you've defended. All I said was that this year the kid played his butt off and you've taken offense. You are correct. This morning Baker Mayfield is this year's Heisman trophy winner. But you've made my point. I understand Louisville didn't win and OU did, thus we have Baker Mayfield Heisman winner. But Lamar Jackson should not have been third. There you have it To me stat stuffer is an insult because it sounds as if the kid is playing for himself not the team and I don't believe that to be the case with him. Just my opinion.

I never said that Mayfield wasn't a good QB. Never said he was undeserving, you are the one that put the "Stat Stuffer" label on Jackson. You talk like his numbers are garbage and that is not the case. The kid won the award last year and this year his numbers are better and he was voted third? If (and this is a big if) Louisville had beaten Clemson and were in the top 4, who do you think would have won? But, that is not the case and Mayfield won. That does not diminish the season that Jackson had nor does it make his stats any less impressive. And no, I am not a Louisville fan, I just believe the kid was better than third. Hats off to Mayfield, great accomplishment. Just think that if Jackson played on a team comparable to OU the numbers world have been off the charts. But that's just my opinion.

If he could go into Death Valley with Louisville's team and beat Clemson, then winning the national Championship with Sooners should be no problem. We shall see. Oh, by the way, OU is a bit better than the Cards, Quite a bit.

I wasn't speaking on his passing ability. I was talking about his ability to take the ball 70 yards on his own. I think the kid has had a great season and being efficient is fine but Jackson has accounted for over 400 yards of offense running and passing per game. Keep the 16 yards per catch, put him on Louisville's team in the ACC and he'll end up right where Louisville is with NO consideration for the award. Now Place Jackson and his 400+ yards with the Sooners in the big 12. You tell me. JMO. By the way 16 yards per catch, isn't that a stat? Just asking.

What would "stat machine" Jackson's numbers be if he was playing for OU? Would Mayfield be the guy with 2 minutes left if he was playing for Louisville? I think not. And that's what makes what Jackson has done this year that much more impressive. Mayfield had a very good year but to have Jackson at third? PLEASE! I'm with Wireman and VOR on this one. After all that I hope it is his turn in the rotation when Ohio plays Owensboro. As much grief that OHS has had over the past few seasons I don't know why you'd pitch your ace but I would like the opportunity to see him. Nice that he's come back better and stronger. In 76 didn't they still have the state at-large and the Louisville Champ? Henderson County wasn't AAAA then. I believe the Louisville schools were. Henderson was still in the Big 8 conference along with OHS, Catholic, Union County, Daviess County, Apollo, Madisonville, and I'm not sure who the other team was maybe Ohio County. If I am not mistaken, Henderson won the at-large championship and Trinity won the 4A championship, then beat Henderson. Trinity was as tough then as they are now.

Did Mojo Hollowell win one with Union County? I know he won one at Henderson County and came close with owensboro Catholic.

Being an Owensboro fan, I hate to say it but the South Warren job might be one for the list.

I told my son who plays a "skill position" that ANY time you make a big play, long run, long pass, what ever. When you get back to the huddle, look your big guys in the eye and thank them cause with out them, you go no where. More than one of them have come up to me after games to tell me how they like blocking for him because they know he appreciates the job they do.

After the beat down that South Warren took from Bowling Green earlier this season, then to come back to do what they did last week (as visitors); these kids have played under pressure. Has CCH experienced anything like that this year? I would say that fact and SW being at home, gives them a chance. BTW how much of a chance were they given last week? Hopefully, it will be one of those once in a lifetime games for players and fans.

Having a coach with that type of ability is a true asset. Sounds like it will be a monster game. The winner will have earned it.
