What are the best first round matchups and potential upsets around the state? In this area I’d say Glasgow-Barren County. Should be a great game and I think Glasgow avenges the two regular season losses and pulls it out at home.

I’m curious what Scott would’ve been ranked last season? Easily could’ve beaten Bowing Green in the semi finals last season which was the best game of the tournament. High school basketball just matters whose hot at the right time.

I agree with you. For me personally I enjoy getting to watch players of that type of quality. For example I was happy that Zion Harmon stayed close enough for me to watch anytime

Absolutely agree. I was at the KOB when the two played. I just feel Cov Cath can win in more ways than Cooper. Ballard could knock off Trinity in region and Fern Creek has a region loss or two I believe. Don’t know much about what else is in Scott County’s region.

Big win for Adair.

I have a buddy that every year he has me pick four teams to win the state title and give him the field. What four teams would you roll with? I’m thinking as of now Scott County, Trinity, Cov Cath, and Fern Creek. Thoughts?

To me Cooper is a fun team to watch. Went to the Kentucky-Louisville game and hung around Lexington (right around a two hour trip one way for me) to watch them play at Lex Cath. They play hard, smart, can all handle the ball and shoot. Also really like their coach. They remind me a lot of last years Scott team.

Adair really looked bad defensively in the first half. Press picked it up in the second half. Didn’t seem to play very hard tonight which is understandable. Always fun to watch Harmon play though as many fans at Metcalfe came out tonight to see him for the first time.

I doubt we will be hearing about him on state for the next four years but obviously Zion Harmon from Adair County.

Jobby Howard of Caverna finished with 65 points while Zion Harmon finished with 54 for Adair. Great game to watch.

Final. This one was never close and confirms what most believed, that its Warren Central’s region to lose.

Honestly idk enough about either team to give a very good stance on those three. These two teams are so far away from me that I only see them at KOB or state tournament. I know AK, CJ, and don’t honestly know the big kid from CCH name. From what I watched at the KOB I’d take CJ’s surrounding cast if the kid that was hurt is as good as I heard.

To me it seemed that the better team won the game. I’m not sold on the big kid from CCH. Wasn’t impressed this year or last year at the KOB. He’s big and has the body I just don’t see the hype. May just be the few times I’ve seen him though. Chris Mack knows what he’s doing though so I’ll defer to him.

I’ll take AK after watching both this week and seeing both a couple times last season at KOB and state tournament. I think CJ has a better college career cause he has a better body frame but for high school basketball I like AK more.

Great game and atmosphere. Trinity used up all of their jumpers against Cooper so it evened out. I personally still believe Trinity is the better team but if they played 10 times I think it’d be 6-4.

IMO AK was the best player in the tournament that I watched in the last two days.

Was nice to see Metcalfe get two wins this weekend. Hopefully can build on that the rest of the season.
