Paris continues to impress. Lose a boatload of talent from the year before and here they are again in the same position as last season. I love their grit. Congrats to Coach Brooks and the Greyhounds and good look Monday night. Sound be a good one.

They are a young team. They are bound to have some ups and downs, especially coming off the high of last month. Definitely not the best timing, but hopefully they get back on track in time for district.

Augusta has put a nice run of games together. It is a good time to be playing your best basketball of the season.

Good win for Nicholas County. As for Robertson, Coach Kelsch will get them refocused and have them ready come district time.

Profit sharing. The two teams that go to the region share their region windfall with the two who are eliminated.

If it gets kids exposure, I am all for it. I don't think it will attract the casual fan, but who knows. It will help break the season up and eliminate that period between the holidays and districts that can sometimes seem to drag on.

I am glad to know the reason for Nicholas' boys lack of success all of these years is because low expectations. The reason their baseball and softball teams have had success is because they are better than Pendleton and Robertson in both, which is the reason why they should seed in those sports. That isn't the case now nor has it been in the past in regard to boys or girls basketball. Recently yes for their girls, but not the whole time.

I have it on good authority, that money was the reason behind Nicholas seeding. Today at the meeting, when it looked like vote for profit sharing was going to fail. Nicholas was about to give up and keep the draw. When they saw that the profit share was going to pass, they were on board for seeding. So unfortunately, money was more important than giving their kids the best opportunity to advance. I will say at least they were up front about it. I guess.

The draw has worked out well numerous times for the Nicholas boys. They just haven't been able to take advantage like their girls have. I wouldn't call it karma as far as how the draw worked out well for them today. I would call it irony. The Devils got it done against a very good Paris team in the All A, here's to hoping they can do the same against Pendleton. Good luck to Nicholas against Harrison as well.

Nicholas girls have been to region often under the current format and will go again this year barring a major upset. Not sure going to seeding is as advantageous as people think. Of course, time will tell. As far as the boys, the only reason could be as mentioned earlier money. As I mentioned before, I find that to be a sad admission. Good luck to all the teams going forward.

Possibly, but the Nicholas girls has had plenty of success against all the other district opponents under the current format. Not sure why girls is connected to the boys and vice versa anyway. Should be considered 2 separate issues in my opinion.
