In my opinion for high schools the lighted backboard is just there for effect and makes it look more professional. However for college and NBA they can use this on instant replay by looking at ball's release and the light in the same frame, whereas in person it is difficult to have your central vision on the ball and your peripheral vison on the light. It is better to look a the ball's release and listen for the horn to determine if the basket is good. Such as in baseball umpires look at the foot touching the base and listen for the sound of the ball hitting the glove and determine which was first when calling a runner out or safe.

We don't get see this milestone reached very often. It has only happened 31 times in KHSAA history that a player has scored 3,000 points. On Tuesday, Peyton Broughton from North Laurel reached 3K, and on that same night so did Austin Crawford of Bracken County. And tonight Timmy Dalton from Lawrence County scored his 3K.

Can't let their emotions get the best of them in a big game like that.

My apologies I worded that wrong. Paris was fully healthy. GRC as you mentioned had two starters out. There has been a lot of sickness in the area this year and some schools cancelling because of it.

My guess is the three schools who voted to draw were hoping that Adair and Taylor would play and have Adair beat Taylor in the first round to sort of punish them?

Here's a fun fact: Adair County is coached by Deron Breeze who in the 08-09 season coached in the 39th District at Bracken County. We all know about the seed/draw debate there.

Site selection: This year: Harrison County 2018: Pendleton County 2019: Robertson County 2020: Nicholas County 2021: Harrison County I am glad to see that Pendleton County is allowed to host district (holds 1,500). A fun place to play and watch a game.

Pendleton County isn't an easy place to win and with both teams full strength I would have anticipated Campbell County wining by 5-10.

There is always a slight delay between the clock and the backboard light. Officials are told to look at the ball and listen to the buzzer. Much like in baseball where they are told to look at the feet touching the base and the sound of the ball hitting the glove.

Did you expect Bracken County fans to be like: "oh, the ref said it didn't county. Darn it. Maybe next time." Of course they are going to react like they did.
