Neither Stoops, Elliot or anyone affiliated with UK had any say on this decision. They were getting ready for Louisville! The Dr present even made the comment that he wasn't gonna say he couldn't play because he knew in the end if he wanted to play he would but he felt it was still a little loose. There's so much to the story it's not worth going on about. It is what it is! Paintsville had a great opertunity at a state title this year and with such a high level opponent in that game no matter who woulda been out they woulda fell short! If they had Daniel and Phelps was out or Trimble or Allen, they couldnt have done it! Paintsville needed every single Tiger on the field to Take Pikeville! For PAINTSVILLE 2015 is over and we'll focus on 2016! As for Pikeville you've got 1 more! I have no doubt about their chances come tomorrow!! I hope Pugh has 300yds!

Easy to say but first off the TD before half probably wouldn't have existed with no one on the D touching the run up the middle plus I feel more forced turnovers! He does it on both sides of the ball! Paintsville woulda for certain had 1 to 2 more TD's theres 14/21 pt difference! Hate to get into this because the truth is With #15 fact is it a completely different game but Pikeville fans continue with this comment of "sure he woulda made a difference bit not a 19pt difference" yes he makes that much of a difference. Not just him scoring and stopping TD's but imagine 1hr before the game vs a Healthy Paintsville team and Pikeville finds out Pugh's dad wouldn't allow him to play! Talk about a lop sided win! Does either team have enough talent to overcome? Yes, but that's a huge blow mentally that your leader is NOT going into battle with you! So yes 1 player the caliber of Daniel or Pugh makes that big of a difference! Best thing is, Danile didn't play so we will never know so Pikeville needs fans need to focus more on BW and less on Kash by NOT making that big of a difference! Now take it to em!!

Great stats and great Highschool player but not had the publicity! I hate that he's not had really any college offers. To me that comes from hard working coaches making those phone calls and sending those emails just like Coach Kinner and Cherico did for Kash! Without them UK doesn't show up! Still plays D1 just not SEC! Gotta be willing to aggravate as many people as possible to get those kids in the door! Interested to see who gets Mr Football now after everything is playing out! Some may have been favorites but focus may have swayed to others still playing! To me it's hard not to award it to a kid that has showed true leadership by never quitting and leading his team to the state Championship Game! One kid that's showed everyone a ton (though I don't know what year he is) is Workman for Johnson Central! That kid suffered a knee injury mid way though the season and battled through it to lead his team to state! That says allot for his character! Good luck to all the players nominated! A LOT of talented athletes in our great state this year! Looking for Kent Phelps to be atop the list for next year!!

No their not 1 dimensional but rely heavily on Pugh running the ball up the middle! QB has pretty good feet but I think he will be ran down a few times against BW! He does throw the ball very well! I think Beechwood will go to the air from the start and will probably be able to stay there most of the night with success but if BW can't contain Pugh it will be a long night because Pikeville doesn't care to feed him all game long and Pugh doesn't mind it either! Tuff Kid!!

Pikeville is a very strong 1A team. Just would liked to have seen their offense evolve some over the season. I know some will holler the change at QB has totally changed their offense but Pugh was handed the ball like 35 times in the first game against Paintsvilles and like 30 times this last game so kinda sounds the same. They need to rely on Pugh just not SO much! The kid throws well so if they actually go to that more I see them doing better in this game. Won't take long for BW to close off the middle and Pikeville QB won't have as much time to run around like last game. As long as Pikeville Gets rid of the ball quicker, doesn't allow BW D to pop the ball lose and they utilize Pugh less but at more opertune times and Pikville can take this game conviencly!

I agree I totally expect 5,000 plus. It's gonna be NUTS finding a parking spot and seats! The field looks great!! Good news is for the ones who aren't able to get out and physically make it to the game they will be able to tune in and watch it at home! It can't get here fast enough! GO BLUE!!

Sure appears that Football in Johnson county is strong right now! Keep it up coaches and players! We would love to end this with 2 State Titles!

Paintsvilles D will break? Im pretty sure we saw this Pikeville team the first time we played but yet all you hear is Pikeville has been playing "lights out since the Belfry game"! "They're a different team" Really? Oh against South Floyd? Or Phelps? And Williamsburg and Lynn camp oh and Pike Central? They've faced 2 strong D lines this year! How'd those work out?

Hopefully we'll be able to find enough crow to feed everyone before they leave Paintsville Friday night!!

Kash will be good. He's a tuff kid. He took a few hard low shots to the knees in the Paris game. That's the good thing about having a week in between games and that these young men heal quickly from bumps and bruises. Whoever at this point it has been a LONG season!! Typically what hurts on Friday night is good by Tuesday practice. Allot of low hits last Friday on a wet field suprised a few of them wasn't hurt bad. Ready for this battle on Friday night! It's gonna be one to remember!!!
