Certainly you would believe your son, and that is definitely a shame if said. I can say that while the intensity was high the only individual the Ryle parents had issue with was the center ref and some of his calls. I was super impressed with Highlands coach pulling one of his own players off the field who wouldn't stop mouthing off at the ref.

That certainly would have been a terrible thing to say. So I checked with fans that were right in the center of the action last night and they emphatically said no one had issues with any Highlands players. There was no animosity between players. Before you take steps to accuse people of harmful words, verify what you think you hear.

But wait... The CR waved off the goal and indicated there was some kind of infraction. Was it offsides? But someone said there is no offside on a kick. Did #19 leave too early? I don't know. There is offside on a free kick. The exceptions are goal kick, corner kicks, kick off. Also, no offside on throw ins.

There is no such thing in the high school rule book about the 30/30 rule. If you see any flashes of lighting , including heat, you stop the match. If they saw the same thing at other fields and did not stop, shame on them.

I might be a bit more open to rooting them on if they were good sports. Now I am not talking about the team in particular, but when a regional final is being played and the opposing teams roster is being announced, their fans stood there booing the entire time. The students are clearly classless. The parents, coaches and team members that stood by without telling them to cut the crap are poor examples of good leadership. So I think I will wait to see who represents our area next year and see if their character is what I would like to support.
