  1. That’s pretty impressive when you consider two 0-10 seasons in the late 60’s and two 1-9 campaigns in the John Griggs era.
  2. I don't foresee Johnson Central and this team actually playing. Wow!
  3. Reading currently “The Soul of America” by Jon Meacham.
  4. It’s a Bowl. Sometimes you’re given a good opponent. Sometimes you’re not.
  5. One other factor on the Bowa comparison is that Concepcion hit as well in the post season as well as he hit in the regular season. That’s rare. Bowa did not.
  6. Bowa was significantly less an offensive threat. Concepcion had a career 101 Homers. Bowa had 15.
  7. He was the best defensively at his position in the 70’s. Offensively he produced well at the bottom of the order for the era.
  8. Happy Birthday to one of my favorite posters. (Except for his disdain for Don Henley). :thumb:
  9. That's been there issue the last couple of years. There worst losses were when they were man handled up front.
  10. At the start of the year I’d put them a couple of spots higher. Lex Cath will be good but haven’t proven how good yet.
  11. Jefferson Starship. Rupp Arena. 1977. Last of the Balin-Slick-Kantner combo. Pablo Cruise opened.
  12. Loony Tunes and Scooby. But I can remember HR Puffenstuff. FWIW.
  13. Reminds me of the scene in Chernobyl when the Committee member tells the Scientist we will use our moon rover. "I didn't know we went to the moon." "We didn't, but we have one shelved in case we did." :lol2:
  14. That's not the first thing you thought. First thing you thought was: "Those are some ugly shoes but I bet Hatz is buying a pair." :lol2::walk:
  15. That's where I first knew of the story. :thumb: "All right, now be quiet," the coach said. "I want to tell you something. Willard Hershberger has just destroyed himself." The Razor'''s Edge | Vault
  16. It didn’t include the Reds catcher that killed himself in the stretch run of the 1940 season. When Lombardi got hurt for the Series, coach Jimmie Wilson had to fill in for the Reds.
  17. Pretty much felt that when he didn't commit after his visit here, he wasn't coming. It means that our returning bigs are going to have to step up big time.
