Anyone know what the total penalty yards for each team was?

Got my defcon 2 winter gear ready to go for this one. Going to be a cold one. seems everyone thinks BG will roll in this one. I hope that’s the case. I honestly don’t know much about South Oldham.

I like that one of the teams being able to play at home. Plus I think attendance would be negatively impacted if they went to neutral site games. I personally can’t stand the state championships being played at UK either.

I hate to see this. Very sad news indeed. He did a great job with the Briarjumpers too. Prayers to his family and all those in the community.

Absolute phenomenal performance by the Purples tonight. Great gameplay and playcalling by the coaches. Players excuted well. What a win! Shutout and absolutely dominated the Spartans. I will say South didn’t look they even wanted to be there from start. Their body language in warmups was bad. They seemed to me to almost quit once they went down two scores. Even the playcalling kind of resembled that. I don’t know. it’s been a long season for South. They’ve been beaten up and it can be tough. Great job by Bowling Green.

Good season for the Gators. I figured Owensboro would win. Owensboro in the playoffs and RASH are always tough.

That makes several upset picks on here. I’ll be keeping an eye on the score. RASH is an amazing atmosphere during the playoffs.

Yeah the pressure is all on BG this year. South won the title last season. They are having a bad year this year, but if they could ruin BG’s playoff run it might salvage some of it. BG is at home. They won the first game. They have a chance to make a run to the championship game. Just more to Lose for BG this year. I will be at this game tonight, but will be keeping up with scores from a couple of other games.

It’s unavoidable for the whole game I would think. So we will probably see Carbon run at Howard. But that’s where blocking and play strategy comes in. Owensboro will have to make Howard work for any tackles he gets as well as come at him when he’s on offense. Make it hard on him. But I think Owensboro will be able to handle it.

I fully expect that to continue Friday.

As @Purple88 has said, go to Old Hickory. Moonlight is for tourist, Old Hickory is for the real deal.

I'd like to see more competitive games in the first round. That way these kids don’t go into so many first round games with no hope and the higher seeds don’t have to worry about injuries in a meaningless game. Also the home team can actually lose money on a first round game too. There are two pretty easy options to fix it. It’s just hard to get everyone to agree on which option.

Was the motivation to go to 6 classes more to increase the number of champions giving more teams a shot or to get as many teams in playoffs as they could?

I have not seen O-Cath play a game All year, so I can’t speak to them. The only common opponent is Apollo and the scores were almost the same. Probably be a good game.

He’s gotta be the best player in country if people are saying he’s Superman. He can single handedly beat every single team, except the two he just didn’t feel like beating this year.

According to some on here Greenwood has Superman on their team so Owensboro shouldn’t even show up.

Teams already have the option to “opt out” of the first round of the playoffs. It’s called forfeiting and I believe a couple of teams did that this week. if you want to help with the blowouts just give the higher seeds a bye.

Owensboro wins this game convincingly. May not be a blow out, but a couple of scores. Greenwood’s fools gold of a season comes to an end. Owensboro 24-10.

BG is the better team this year. The Purples left a lot of points on the field during the first game or that one wouldn’t have been as close. BG is has gotten better since that first matchup too. South has gotten worse. Now this is not a game BG can come into and play poorly or have a relaxed attitude about though. South would like nothing more than ruin BG’s playoff run. South will try to control the clock and pound the ball similarly to the first game. I would expect some more play action. BG 34 SW 21

Every year someone posts the combined scores of the winning teams and the combined scores of the losing teams. It’s usually pretty remarkably lopsided.

Last score I saw was 22-0 at half.

Can’t wait to see the total combined scores for the first round games this year.

Playoff time means higher gate tickets at most places and the end of free broadcasts.

It would just be so easy to give byes and let lower seeds play each other first. Take my area of the state. We have BG/Ohio County, Greenwood/Grayson, Owensboro/Christian County, South Warren/Graves imagine working it out to where Christian County vs Grayson South Warren vs Ohio County Those are at least better matchups than what is there. Might even help attendance with more competitive matchups and the top teams don’t have to risk injury in a meaningless game.
