    Not saying it will. Mayfield is obvisouly very well coached, talented, and has kids with a championship pedigree. I'm just here to let you know this Owensboro Catholic team is good and they went into Rash Stadium and took OHS toe to toe and by all accounts outplayed them on offense and defense just not on special teams. Mayfield will not intimidate this OC team and I don't believe the atmosphere will either. OC will bring a great fan base down. I can't wait to see this game. Neither one of these teams know very much about each other but I think this OC team will enjoy the underdog role and give Mayfield all they want.

    OC has a pretty balanced attack. They do run the ball. They have a 1200 yard rusher. Ask Murray.... It broke their will in the 2nd half when OC keep running the ball and getting 1st downs on them.

    OC was missing a starting OL/DL and then had another kid emerge as good DL that did not play against Daviess Co. OC is good for one bad game a year where they drop passes, can't convert in the red zone, turn the ball over, and give up a big play or two. Fortunately for OC it was Week 2 of the Regular Season and not Week 2 of the playoffs this year!

    Would really like to hear from a Murray fan on their thoughts of these two... I know Bright didn't play against Murray but based on what little I've read and heard from others. Murray basically shot themselves in the foot with turnover deep in Mayfield territory and a couple of dropped would be TD passes. Again.. just heard this second hand so would like to hear Murray's thoughts.

    I don't know about Coach Edge... but I know there are some Edge's that get pretty loose in the endzone during games. This game will come down to turnovers and Red zone conversions. Although Catholic's D has been much improved, Murray is still bigger and has a nice group of athletes on O. If OC's offense shows up.. they win. The last few years, Catholic's D has played well enough to win this ballgame but the offense has not scored in the Redzone and had turnovers that led or directly related to Murray's points. I like OC, more speed than in the past and the defense is playing well. Owensboro Catholic 31 Murray 21

    Game will be played in Owensboro at Steele Stadium on KWC's campus. That is where OC plays their home games.

    I know just imagine if Zuberer actually played a little better competition and got to play in the 2nd half... his #'s would be much better! Ask Coach Fallin and OHS fans if Zuberer is overrated or not?

    I think you all maybe right about someone from the East sneaking up and winning. You really can't ever count out NCC. I know DeSales manhandled them last year but that was a pretty special defense DeSales had. I know Mayfield fans are very confident , and by all means they should be. But the winner of that OC- Murray game has the potential to win it all and Mayfield can't take that lightly. Ask your good friends at Caldwell County about what Murray is capable of in the playoffs and even DeSales for that matter. They had a touchdown called back last year that shouldn't have been. And as for OC... if they can get over the "Tiger" on their back in Rd 2 against Murray and stay healty...look out.

    The only chance that Monroe Co has to beat DeSales is if the Colts bring 2 buses down and the bus with their defensive players get lost and the offensive guys have to play both ways. I get Monroe has played a tough schedule but they need to beat teams like North Hardin and Franklin Simpson to be considered a threat.

    I tend to maybe agree that OC just hasn't seen that speed and athleticism since the OHS week. OC had NH pinned on 3rd and long and 4th down situations but they kept making plays. You eliminate a few 4th down conversations and that game could have been 47-7.

    Great thread all year! Good luck to all the Western KY teams in the playoffs. Very real possibility to see Western KY teams win the state title in every class except 6A.

    Owensboro should win this handily. Henderson has gotten better/healthier through out the year but OHS has a 2 headed monster in the backfield, good defense, and has the size to compete with Henderson upfront. OHS 35 Henderson 14

    I didn't mean to get on here to compare Christian Co v. Owensboro Catholic... It was more kind of point out how I think Hopkinsville/Caldwell (both very good teams) are ranked slightly higher than I would have them and they both have losses to Christian Co who are ranked behind them. I would probably have Owensboro Catholic #6 and Christian County (even with 2 losses) #7. Caldwell #8, Daviess Co (this is a big week for them) #9, and then Hopkinsville #10. Which I know is all completely debatable. I understand you could say the same about Daviess Co but I'm a OC fan so I'm slightly bias

    I cant really argue against that Brown even though I think if those 2 teams played 10 times.. OC wins 8 of them. Just was an off night from what I seen. I think Daviess is the most deserving, however if they lose to Henderson then they are right where they should be. Not sold on Adair yet... if they beat Etown then I'll consider. But the one team that is a Top 8 team IMO and is very dangerous is Murray. They have shown that when the temp drops and ball control and defense matters they come to play. They are a scary team that has a really bad loss to Graves and a not so bad loss to Hoptown but was banged up that game. I'm pretty sure Mayfield fans would agree with me.

    I see where your coming from.. Just giving you another take. I think you are spot on with your top 5 teams although the order can always be debatable but hard to prove. Really 6-10 is a crap shoot... I think if your Christian County the only 2 teams you have lost two are in the top 4 but you also have 2 teams you beat at #6 & #7. Hopkinsville's best win is over a Murray team that was missing a few guys. Caldwell's best win is over a 4-3 PT team. OC's best win is over Butler Co and Etown is in the eastern time zone so I'm not even sure they can be considered Western KY but I know their districts set up over here so I'm fine with them. Not saying your wrong, I get it's the what have you done for me lately motto but just giving you something to think about.

    After the OHS v. Christian County score... I would think you would move Owensboro Catholic ahead of Hopkinsville. Seems odd as well that you still have Hopkinsville ranked higher than Christian County as well as Caldwell when they beat both head to head.
