Unless the KHSAA starts strictly enforcing transfer rules the 2nd region will continue to be the 8th district's to lose. There will always be boys loading up at either Christian County, Hoptown or UHA. Madisonville-North Hopkins may be become a bigger threat but not the favorite unless something changes with the KHSAA.

With what I saw him do for UHA this season and what I keep hearing about his performance on the EYBL, I would be shocked if he is not Top 25 nationally when the new rankings come out.

I think Matthew Mitchell is a great coach and I have no idea what is really going on at UK lately. After Duvall decommitting and now this, maybe it is time to let him go?

This kid is the best prospect I have seen in Hopkinsville in a very long time. He impresses me more than Scotty Hopson ever did.

They lost some key seniors off of a team that was already rebuilding. They are still very young and will need another year of rebuilding before they can make a run at the district championship again.

No seniors last season so they return everyone and have even added a couple kids who didn't play last year. They have a lot of potential and should be in the conversation for region favorites.

I know you're trying to replicate the same thread from the basketball forum but wouldn't a better title be New England Patriots instead of a NBA team? Picky I know but it's killing me.

I don't think that will ever happen. Hendo has been this big for a long time and they haven't had considerable population growth in a very long time. It's not broke so Henderson County Schools won't try to fix it.

Parents are a problem everywhere it seems.

Wells wasn't a good fit at Webster County. They had one of their worst seasons in recent years and I think everyone saw after 1 season it wasn't a good fit and they should part ways. I still think she is a good coach based on her success elsewhere, she just wasn't a good fit there.

You're thinking about Tonya Wells. The coach that just left is Parker McCalister. Wells only coached Webster County for 1 year that was in between McCalister's tenures. McCalister was very successful with the program. I think they made the region every year and made the last 2 region final games.

I heard that it was to take a job outside of education.

I just heard today that Webster County is now open. Their coach resigned last week. This is one of the best jobs in the 2nd region. They return every player except from last year's team that lost by 1 point in the region championship. A lot of people think that they are the team to beat next season.

I would be willing to bet that she will not turn 19 in July. That would make her inelgible as she would age out before the deadline. Surely they would not hold her back if that were the case.

I was referring to high school kids making the move any way. I've used this example several times because it is the most recent example, no other reason. Janiya Davis played varsity for Christian County in 8th grade and freshman year, University Heights as a sophomore and Hopkinsville as a junior. All of this without moving from her Christian County address. She is now a senior and rumors are already flying that she will go back to Christian County. The KHSAA does not govern like they should.

Not in the 8th district. Kids jump schools all the time without moving and still get eligible.

Dennis Hodge - Crittenden County Tim Haworth has never overachieved with any of his teams. They only beat who they are supposed to beat and even lose some of those. He had the talent to beat Christian County at least once but was outcoached each time. I'm sure this will stir up the Hopkinsville faithful but Haworth isn't a top 5 coach in the region.

Cummings was the JV coach at Christian County this season.

Seeding makes the most sense for district because all the teams play each other. You can't fairly seed the state tournament because not all of the teams play each other and there is so much disparity from region to region that teams appear much better on paper than they really are. Not to mention that the draw has to take place before the participants are decided so everyone has adequate time to plan if they make it.

There's no good reason to draw instead of seed. In no world is it logical to have the #3 and #4 teams battle it out for a spot in the region tournament while #1 and #2 teams have to play to see who was the unlucky party in the draw. If a #3 or #4 upsets a #1 or #2 then so be it. Decide it on the court or field, not with a lottery.

If Moss from Apollo got playing time at 22ft Academy then Tyrik Edwards can get playing time. Tyrik is a lot better than Moss.

Not true. She gave her verbal commitment to Notre Dame before the start of her junior season and signed during the early signing period. If she wanted to go to UCONN she would have. She's going where she feels is the best fit.

Great hire. She has been really good with the girls the past few years.

I have not seen this kid play. Who is the better prospect Allen or KyKy Tandy?
