1. Tim Haworth- Hopkinsville

2. Webster counties coach is great, I don't know his name.

3. Jeff Embry- Lyon County, he does more with less then anyone except the coach from Webster.

4 Frankie Smith- Christian County

5. Henderson Counties coacj, I don't know his name either.

Webster coach is great and could be at the top of any list

He and Embry both, if either one was at Henderson or an 8th district school they'd be at the top of this list most likely but at this point you can't argue against Hayworth. No one in the region has accomplished nearly as much as he has.

Tim Haworth has never overachieved with any of his teams. They only beat who they are supposed to beat and even lose some of those. He had the talent to beat Christian County at least once but was outcoached each time. I'm sure this will stir up the Hopkinsville faithful but Haworth isn't a top 5 coach in the region.

That's a pretty strong statement, WKY. Not sure about "over achievement," but going by results alone, he's pretty durn good.

 

In six years, he's had four district champions and a runner-up...and four region champions and a runner-up...coming out of the toughest district in a rather wide area.

 

At state, he has been to two quarter-finals and a semi-final...twice losing to the eventual champion.

 

And his six-year overall record at Hoptown is 159-37.

 

I can be rather picky at times, but I would surely settle for that.

Haworth has the record to make him the most successful, I think Emby and Newman are better coaches but aren't in the right system. I forgot about Hodges, he's good but I'd say he's #6. Frankie Smith is good but I think he's arrogant and had an awful game plan against South Laurel.

Henderson has never won at either school he has been at. Hoptown coach has won at a great record , Smith had a great season. You have to win to be on the list

I would suggest that some of the best coaches ever have spent their careers at small schools and never gotten the recognition "big time" coaches get.
