39th District Hosting Solution
Until the State forces it, the 38th and 39th neither one will be seeded. If Bracken was in a District with Mason, Harrison, Scott, Campbell, GRC, MoCo or Pendleton (who historically have teams that would beat BC) they would vote for the draw as well. You simply cannot blame the smaller schools of Augusta, St. Pat, Nicholas, and Robertson for doing what's best for them.

Bishop Brossart at Bracken County 10/5
Saw on Twitter earlier this week with people complaining about Appleman not getting enough carries, they also said he's the best player on the team. How do you feel about that and what's your opinion?

Do Shoe Companies Provide any of your players or Teams Gear, Trips, Etc for Free?
Mason County is sponsored by Nike in basketball and most other sports, but the football team is UA. Not sure how that works but it's interesting. And by sponsored I mean the school buys equipment from them, not that they give players free stuff.

39th District Hosting Solution
The point of my argument wasn’t financially, I honestly don’t care how the school stands from a financial standpoint. The point of my argument was that it hurts them from a public relationship stand point, they’re essentially ruining the rivalry with Augusta just because Augusta won’t do something that will hurt their athletics. You can’t expect them or St. Pat to do something that will hurt themselves. As far as I’m concerned the 39th with always be a blind draw and although I don’t think it’s the best option for the district or region as a whole, it is the best option for those two schools and for Robertson and Nicholas for that matter.

39th District Hosting Solution
It’s hurting them because they are refusing to play home and home games with St. Pat and Augusta. Obviously the best situations for those two schools is to take their chances with the draw. The hosting confusion came about when Augusta changed their vote to host at the Fieldhouse instead of the Igloo, which is fine. I think the Fieldhouse is the best and most convenient venue for players and spectators of all schools, I’m not saying Bracken doesn’t have the gym to support it’s just inconvenient and not needed when you have the 3rd largest gym in the state 20 minutes down the AA.

39th District Hosting Solution
Makes perfect sense to drive 25 minutes when you can actually grab a bite to eat after the game or go grocery shopping, etc. If I recall correctly the first time Augusta beat Mason County was in the Fieldhouse by a pretty big margin, it's not like it's impossible to beat them at there, especially now. Bracken County can continue to protest the seeding all they want, but it's never going to happen and will only hurt them in the long run.

39th District Hosting Solution
Bracken County's arrogance/ego has made this much more difficult than it has to be. Obviously they aren't going to host the district at Augusta or St. Pat, so therefore you have the Fieldhouse and the Igloo left. Augusta and St. Pat want the have it at the Fieldhouse then so be it. Bracken can host once every 4 years. I highly doubt any other district in the state has this issue.

Would it be safe to say that Coach Elsbernd will describe their defense as "shake'n bake"?

2017 Boy's Region Golf Results/State Entries
Here is the full list of the teams and individuals that made it to the State Tournament, congratulations to all teams and individuals. http://khsaa.org/golf/2017/2017boysregionalresults.pdf Couple of things I noticed: 1. Madison Central beat LCA by 1 stroke to win Region 9. 2. St. Xavier and LarRue County won their region by 2 strokes. 3. This is the first time in a long time that Mason County will not have an individual or team member competing at the State Tournament. 4. This is Lewis County's first trip to the State Tournament in school history. 5. Montgomery County has won 4 of the last 5 of their Regional Tournaments.

Top Contenders for 10th Region POY
Kind of contradicting yourself, a couple years back Bailey Cummins was arguably the best player in the Region but I believe Whitney O'Mara won the award even though Cummins had better stats but she had a team that wasn't successful. Same thing this year Celphane and Reed will both be on teams that won't be as successful as those as GRC and Campbell simply because they don't have the talent/depth on the roster that they do. I'm not sure there is a "fair" way to go about doing this award, as I made the case for O'Mara to be POY over Cummins back in 2015 because I thought she was the better overall player that had to sacrifice her shot attempts for the well being of the team, but other people made the case for Cummins because of the numbers she was putting up night in and night out.

His comments are reflecting the opposite end of the spectrum then the one he's making you think he's implying. :thumb:

Top Contenders for 10th Region POY
It will be much easier for a player like AJ Reed or Anna Clephane to win this award simply because they don't have as many good players on their team as GRC and Campbell Co do.

Top 5 players to ever come out of Bracken/Augusta..
Is it safe to say Brent Bach and Austin Crawford are in the top 5 of both schools? :idunno:

Top Contenders for 10th Region Player Of The Year
You may have him confused with another HC player, Free was either hurt and didn't play against RC is semis or was hurt in that game and played sparingly if I remember. Think he may have missed 5 games during the year for injury. Dunaway wins POY Hope he and Johnson stay injury-free during football season Nope I know who I'm talking about, kinda looks like Brent Bach. Free got hurt during the RC game but watched him against MC in December in the Fieldhouse and then again against Bracken Co I believe. Just wasn't impressed and don't think he'll be able to complete with Dunnaway.

Top team in the 10th region
I agree 110% Mike!! Bracken didn't lose that much anyway, Jason's the best coach in the State. By mid February he'll have the Polar Bears a top 20 team in the state! You heard it here first!! Geeze, that was harder to type than I thought. Almost puked 4 times.

Top Contenders for 10th Region Player Of The Year
Watched Spencer Free play a couple games last season, including the District Semi-Final against Robertson Co and I was not impressed. Think it will come down to Johnson or Dunnaway.

Top Teams In The 10th Region
1a- GRC 1b- Campbell 3. Mason 4. Scott 5-whatever: doesn't matter.
-
Top team in the 10th region
1. GRC 2. Mason County I think you can throw whoever you want wherever you want for 3-6 and it won't really matter. I only think Mason County is the 2nd best because Isaiah Garrison is back on the team. Their trio of guards in Dunnaway, Lofton, and Garrison will be pretty solid.

Top Contenders for 10th Region Player Of The Year
Leevi Dunnaway since it has to go to a Senior, Donatie Allen is the best player in the region though.
