She's the entire reason GRC didn't blow MC out in the Region Finals last season.

To me this "waters down" the award. Would a senior win this if it was open to everyone? Probably but the fact that it's a "Senior" only award doesn't make it a true POY IMO.

My guess is they do that so the same person can't win the award more than once.

Trust me, I know.... just going on what team they played on a year ago when named to the All-Region team ....

I would guess that the Lady Camels will split some votes. It will be tough for one of them to win it.

Probably open the door for Anna Clephane to win the Player of the Year .. especially, if she has the same season she had a year ago!

Just to clarify...

The POY for KABC is a senior award.

THE POY for the Coaches Association is open to any player.

And Anna Clephane won that last year for the 10th receiving the most votes from the coaches.

It will be much easier for a player like AJ Reed or Anna Clephane to win this award simply because they don't have as many good players on their team as GRC and Campbell Co do.

I don't think it should matter if you have better players on your team. The award should go to the best player period and the success of that team based off the performances of that player.
