I seen many teams over the years, for what ever reason, decline to play competition outside of their comfort zone. I look at Holmes schedule, I see weakness written all over it. Notre Dame for an example, has played many games out of the N Ky area. Simon Kenton and Ryle are 2 other teams that I seen the past 4 years venture down state and play. Make all the excuses you want, but if I'm a coach who I think has a top team, Im on the phone in June trying to get into some worthy tournaments.

Knowing Mercy as well as I do, probably good defense. Defense has a way of making their opponent take bad shots and shoot poorly. BBN knows that!

This is a 1st for me. I never ever seen 4 pages of whining about a game and the team won. The winning team wants "tapes" given to KHSSA and demands something be done, wow. What will happen once this team loses, will they want to shut down basketball? Rule of thumb in basketball is, if your faster, more aggressive, the foul count at end of the game won't be even. Show us where in the rule book that the fouls must be even at the end of a game? Congratulate the opposing team and move on, for the ones who don't follow Holmes, your making your school look bad.

And next, your going to try to convince us she will beat Boley out for Ms Basketball next year.

Nope, Erin Boley is a Jr and won 5th region POY. Ms Basketball has to be a Senior.

It's the best players, period. It's not a "everyone gets a trophy contest". In the 5th region, coaches do not vote for their own players.

So in the N Ky area, all teams send you "tapes" for you to review? What power do you possess?

I too said at the very first post, if in danger, call it quits. I don't have enough fingers and toes to count that I seen a no call and a player lie on the floor. If they was in a fight, yes, but I'm not getting this. Its 9-0, what happened that fast to feel threatened other than a rough foul. Maybe it's done different in your region, I don't know. On another site, it's a whole different story than whats been said here. Some one in the know said a player was down on the court, and the coach had words with the ref, and was tossed. Was he acting like a fool and was making a scene where the ref felt he was no help? Lots of questions, no tape yet?? What I have seen, in the final minutes of a game, several players fouled out , and a scuffle break out, a team walk off. At 9-0, this is strange. Lastly, if fans are involved, bottles being thrown on court, threats made, by all means, walk off and leave.

So a person that has tape of a past game can turn it in to the Basketball Gods and get a player suspended???:speechless: I'm heading over to the CD archives asap!! Where have I been all these years.

So one guy says they are known to hand check, one guy says they don't this year, is it worthy of 5 pages? Anyone who states that a team is hand checking or is physical isn't degrading no one. My daughter played against Henderson Co 2 times over her career, they was the most atrocious, hand checking physical team next to Sara Hammond's Rockcastle team we ever seen. We won 1 lost 2, after the games, we felt we was better by playing that style. It's not a knock on those kids, thats just what they do, and when you play Henderson, you know it's coming. Jeff Haile has done a great job down there, and he or his fans don't get bent when someone talks about their style.

Are these two team heated rivals? How many fouls was called so far into the game? Any altercations, even though score was 9-0? Quite as crickets by both teams, so too many questions, no answers yet, but still early I suppose.

Bethlehem has a couple 6'4 kids who touch the ball maybe 5 times a game. Their coach hasn't figured the inside out game yet..............

I agree Clyde, as I said the same. Schools depend on home games to create revenue for their team, and they lost money by this team quitting. This wil be interesting to follow.

Not judging, just being real. The only reason to quit is the team is in imminent danger and feel harm may occur. Somebody told them to quit, so lets see who it was.

Regardless, you don't quit, real class act............

I love teams and their fans who think at the end of the game, the fouls should be even. Those darn refs!

Can Taylor Co make some noise in the boys Sweet 16?. Its been a while since any 5th region team had a impact in the tournament, is this the year. One loss(a bad loss) to a Ky team is all they have in Ky, just 1.

Etown blew a 10 point lead, and played not to lose the last 6 minutes. You have to know where the shooters are, and be on them, not give them wide open uncontested looks at the 3. I felt with Patterson out, Etown didn't have a chance. They played well in his absence, but the coaches have to be shaking their heads on this one.

I'm sure some low life lawyer will take advantage of this now, just great..........
