I agree. My son has always played on his grade and my grade older team as well. You could put him on a grade below his and maturity and size wise he wouldnt stand out. lol AAU is a thing of the past but If they are gonna make it I wish they would just pick something and go with it. I do think age based is the best choice for the kids. For profit it has proved otherwise.

I guess you are being funny but all cases are not as they seem. My youngest boy went to corner stone christian school for two years of pre school ages 3 and 4 . He has a april b day so the next year it was time to put him in regular school. Corner stone told us he was in no way ready for school. lol he was a little strong headed and caused trouble. they wouldn't even take him back in their school the following year. We made the choice to hold him a year and hoping he matured a little. He did and he has done really well ever since.

Hearing he may run with Louisville magic this year.

I guess there are some that just hold back to get off on middle victories. We have our kids take practice ACT tests, pre ACT test before we ever take the actual ACT test. That prepares them to take the real test I guess. Having an extra year to prepare for anything cant hurt, especially a year older going out in the real world. To each his own is my opinion as long as they are playing by the rules we are given.

It is not just southern ky any more either. Its big all over the country now. Many kids in the ville and northern ky doing it too. It is not something new though. I was held back in 8th grade in 1984. My 8TH grade class held 8 back that year.

Yes 15 is older then what some are use too but all hold backs are 14 when they start 8th grade and turn 15 at some point during the year. Some turn 15 a few days after start of school and some school has already ended.

I was sitting in the chairs on court one beside the goal it happened on. I didn't think it was any where close to fragrant. Just a kid trying to block a dunk attempt to me but everybody has their own opinion and view of stuff. I thought he was gonna be ok after he shot his ft's. Always hate seeing kid get hurt. I been thru plenty of that. Mine broke his leg last year.

This will really change some rosters from year to year in the 15u age group in aau events I believe.

ky playmakers did play this year year but in limited capacity. matt cromer broke his leg roller skating after last years aau season and heath tore acl. reese smith had surgery on his leg also. Everybody is back healthy and we will be ready to roll finally. May be playing the adidas circuit though.

We are really talking about whats quickly becoming a mute point anyway. Most your bigger aau teams are not even playing any aau stuff any more.

Handy I also like the new rule and I have a lot of age exception kids. It don't matter to me just roll the ball out and lets play but its a business and the business is losing money. I think the d1 as grade based and d2 as age based is kinda what will happen.

If they changed date I wish they would just use Jan 1. Whatever age you are as of Jan 1 is what age you play that year.

AAU is in the process of changing rules again. lost to much money. looking at still keeping an age based system for the ones that want to play it but for grades 5-8 it will be grade based. You can see more about it at coast2coastpreps.com.

South Laurel in the 13th. Adding Andrew Griffith from Williamsburg really helps them. Clay and North Laurel next. South will be top 10-15 in state IMO

What game was you watching. Fitz had 16pts and 6 rebs. 2-3 from 3 and 3-6 from 2 and 4-5 from line. Faulkner had 8 pts and 3 rebs. 2-12 from the field, 1-6 from 3 and 3-9 from the line.

Everybody on the team will be eligible age wise their sr year. Are people that stupid to think a parent would hold their kid back so far that they wouldnt be eligible their sr year. I have heard this happen once in my life time and it was because kid wouldnt do the school work and kept failing
