  1. For those who can't be there. Here's a link to watch the game NKY High School Football - Beechwood vs NewCath - TEAM 1
  2. Agree wholeheartedly Dixie is VERY good.
  3. Well this news stinks. Do we have any idea how long?
  4. LOL did you really just accuse someone else of thinking every kid on their favorite team is the best??? Dude seriously:laugh   :laugh:
  5. Yes they do struggle with that. Part of that is due to having all but three (it might be four on both sides of the ball) starters being sophomores and juniors. This team, next year will be starting mostly seniors. My guess is they will be more mature and more improved. But I gotta say. I'm not disappointed with this year's Cooper team. For a team playing almost all underclassmen, this Cooper team has exceeded before the season's start expectations.
  6. Cooper is a 5a Team. A good 5a team for our district. Dixie is a very good 6a team Simon Kenton is a good 6a team. Check the games Cooper played this year. They beat two 6a teams went 3-1 in their district and tied for #1 in their district. Their final league play ended with a 6-4 record. Three of those losses came against 6a teams and one of those losses came late in the game where Cooper led into the 4th qtr. No one expected that Cooper was going to be able to contend with Dixie or Simon Kenton. Those two teams are heads above our 5a teams. They should have won and they should have won big. As a matter of fact those are the only two teams that blew out Cooper. Cooper won't be playing 6a teams in the playoffs, they'll be playing 5a teams against who the are more evenly matched. Next year Cooper moves to 6a and they will have the same team that went 6-4 this year. I don't know how many returning players SK will have but I expect that Cooper will hold its own in the district next year. Let's just wait and see how far they can go in the 5a playoffs this year before we decide they are terrible or absolutely horrible they are shall we.
  7. I thought Prickett was off a little bit early in the game. He missed a few open receivers. Then in his defense he had a couple passes that should have been caught and were dropped.
  8. Dixie looks GREAT!. Wish them well in the playoffs. From what I could tell only a few minor scrapes and bruises for Cooper. They should be ready to go full speed ahead next Friday for the first round of the playoffs. Hats off to the Dixie football team AND their fans. They are first class all the way.
  9. AMEN! hb said exactly what every cooper fan and parent of a player has been saying throughout this thread. we will cheer on our jags and keep our fingers crossed for an injury free game for BOTH teams.
  10. thanks hb thats exactly the point I was trying to make in my above post. You made it much better and more succinctly than I did
  11. You missed the point. but I'm too tired to explain it. More than likely I didn't express it very well.
  12. That's really awesome. He played sparingly against teams BELOW his district. Whereas Torey only played partial games against teams IN his district. Also and I'd have to do some digging which I'm far too lazy to do, I believe he only played part of the game against Boone County. Truth be told my guess is he didn't play the entire game against Newport Catholic either. Oh wait Collins may be a 6 Team but again I'm too lazy to look it up. lol
  13. He's already made it. See above but just in case. Powell has missed two games. BUT. Torey only played a little over a quarter against Grant County and none at all in the second half against Scott. He may have been taken out earlier in the Scott game. I don't remember.

  15. So we can go trick or treating on Friday. Why else?:dancingpa
  16. Wow Grant County fans have to be ready to just slit their throats.
  17. I doubt very seriously Cooper's coaching staff or the players are going to lose sleep this week thinking about this game. Senior night at Dixie? Of course the coach is going to start his seniors. Isn't that what senior night is all about? The question is how long do these two head coaches risk their starting players in a meaningless game for both teams. As I said once before. I think Coach Borchers will start his regulars to get them some reps especially those that have come back from injuries that kept them sidelined for the last month of the season. Other than that, I expect at least on the Cooper side of the field substitutions will start early so not to risk injury that would hamper Cooper's chances of making a run in the playoffs.
  18. Max preps as of today. Just wondering how the formulas for the two rankings differ. I don't think the new AP rankings are out yet. If so I haven't been able to find them 1 Bowling Green 47.6 8-1 2 Pulaski County (Somerset) 35.8 8-1 3 Southwestern (Somerset) 30.1 8-2 4 Warren Central (Bowling Green) 26.4 6-3 5 Cooper (Burlington) 24.4 6-3 6 Graves County (Mayfield) 23 6-3 7 Bullitt Central (Shepherdsville) 21.9 8-1 8 South Oldham (Crestwood) 20.5 6-2 9 North Laurel (London) 20.3 6-3 10 Grayson County (Leitchfield) 20.2 7-2
  19. I asked my son who plays for Cooper if they had sent anything to SK. He told me they didn't have anything to send. All their equipment was being used and they had to buy more this year to accommodate the increase in numbers Cooper is dressing this year. Next year should even be worse or better depending on your outlook. I think Cooper graduates only 11 Seniors off the team and this years freshman team of course will be moving up to JV and Varsity.
  20. I'm thinking Coach Borchers will play his starters just to get them some reps. Especially those players that are just coming back from injuries. I don't think he'll play them long though and will substitute early to avoid possible injuries to his starters. The game means absolutely nothing to either team. Hope both teams come out of the game injury free heading into the playoffs. Personally I think Dixie wins this but I couldn't care less.
  21. I think everyone got to play tonight. Coach Borchers started substituting with a little over 7:30 to go in the second quarter. A good win for Cooper. I don't think many if any thought they wouldn't win this one. Still after the South Oldham tough loss it was great to see our Jags come out fired up and ready to play. I could be wrong but I don't think Cooper punted until the 4th qtr. I felt pretty bad for Grant County it was 3 and out for most of the game. Both sides of Cooper's 1st team from the first series of downs owned this game. The big back that everyone was talking about for Grant County was held in check all night long. Cooper's D was swarming and gang tackling. With pretty much the entire Cooper Defense back and playing it was great to see them playing as a cohesive unit again.
  22. cooper receives second half kick and marches down the field for another td 54-14
  23. cooper score with 10 seconds in half 47-14 half time
  24. cooper 40-8 .... 5:38 til half. cooper subbing heavily
