Congrats Cooper on another winning season.

Cooper finishes district tied with So Oldham and due to tie breaker So. Oldham gets 1 seed, Cooper 2 seed, Scott 3 seed and Conner 4 seed.

 

I wanted to also add the GC coach is 1st class all the way.

 

Congrats to Cooper and Coach Borchers who has either won outright or tied for 1st in the district 3 out of the last 4 years. Great achievement for team that has been around less than a decade.

Congrats to Cooper on the win. Coach Borchers has done a great job of building a solid program at Cooper. Great guy also.

I think everyone got to play tonight. Coach Borchers started substituting with a little over 7:30 to go in the second quarter.

A good win for Cooper. I don't think many if any thought they wouldn't win this one. Still after the South Oldham tough loss it was great to see our Jags come out fired up and ready to play. I could be wrong but I don't think Cooper punted until the 4th qtr.

I felt pretty bad for Grant County it was 3 and out for most of the game. Both sides of Cooper's 1st team from the first series of downs owned this game.

The big back that everyone was talking about for Grant County was held in check all night long.

Cooper's D was swarming and gang tackling. With pretty much the entire Cooper Defense back and playing it was great to see them playing as a cohesive unit again.

This was a game that Cooper needed to come out and get back to the basics. They got away from their identity the last few games and it showed. Cooper is a team that always wants to start with defense, and then being very diverse offensively. Cooper needed to come out strong and play together and they did that last night. Defensively Cooper did a good job of flying around and getting to the ball and gang tackling like mentioned above. It is also nice to see Cooper getting healthy right before the playoffs.

 

They have one more week, a short week against a good Dixie team, to get ready for the playoffs. I see them working on the basics this week against Dixie and really working on the fundamentals. This is a game that is meaningless for both teams really, more about keeping people healthy, working on some things to prepare both teams for the playoffs, and in my opinion i think you will see both offenses not show very much so they are primed and ready for deep play off runs.
