Pulaski's run will take a short hiatus. Don't get me wrong, they'll still be a nice team, but they'll have a couple of years coming up where they will be good but not great. Losing Riley Hall is a HUGE blow to the team. When you have that caliber of player along with the rest of those kids, it's gonna hurt. Congrats to the Purples as well! I got to witness them in the mud bowl here last year and they are just what teams should strive to be.

Having watched Beechwood earlier this year and being impressed as I was, I think Pikeville deserves serious Kudos for this win. Impressive!

Pulaski is on a nice streak right now. One that they'll remember for a long long time. Northern has a coach that high schools should take notice of. Once he's gone its going to sting a little.

Is there not a market for pee wee ball in the Boyle County area? Seems like that could be huge there.

As a coach in the LCYFL, I appreciate the people in the Boyle County Youth Football league for the hospitality this year. We were able to play the Woodlawn team the last 3 years and Perryville this year. I can appreciate the time and effort they put into those boys and the championship level they play. I would've liked to play the Junction City team this year but I think we have missed that opportunity.

If Somerset comes out with passion and desire, they could make this a game. I would like this game more if it were at home but I'll say 24-22 hazard because of the home field. Hurts to say it, but I just call it how I see it.

First off, for all the Beechwood folks that made the trip, enjoyed the facility and had a good visit, you might want to pat your back as well for being some of the nicest folks cheering against the Jumpers I've been around. Thank you all for coming down. Beechwood is just impressive. They look well disciplined and just controlled every facet of the game. This Jumper team is an enigma to me. They have most of the pieces but still are so young. What hurt me last night is seeing some of them just play as badly as they could. I have theories about that, but I keep those to myself. Somerset is still another year away from being a contender. Beechwood...I'll be paying attention to you all this year.

Soapbox moment : If your middle school program isn't on board with your high school program, you miss out. Doesn't matter what sport. If you're key to making middle school football a bad thing about playing time due to a larger amount of kids playing, then you need to get used to it. If your kid isn't a superstar, he needs to work his tail off and become one. I cannot tell you how many arguments I have seen or been a part of when Johnny 3rd grader isn't playing every down because he was a starter every down as a 2nd grader. Happened to my kid. Did I make him transfer? No. I helped him work hard and earn his spot back. If the 8th grade kids are getting more snaps than your 7th grade kid, help him work to earn his way to the field. We are becoming a society of whiners instead of workers. It's time to change the attitude of people.

Mexitucky- I'm not 100 percent sure of your question but composure I don't think has ever been an issue. I think it's that when they have been a great team, they've always met one team greater. As for this year, they'll still be young but talented. Last year it was youth and injuries that took a toll a long with some off the field problems. I think this team will be tougher because of the winless season but they may not show it on the regular season record. I worry that if they take too many lumps early, they'll fall into some kind of slump that will be tough to recover from. (Opinion only) I do believe that even if they play well, the overall regular season record may not reflect how good this young team is and could very we'll be a scary team to face in the post season. This schedule isn't going to be easy.

My two cents. School board budget is tight and while they have the ability to pay for it, it's just fiscally more responsible to do without. Whoever is responsible for upkeep on that field needs to be questioned. There isn't much of an excuse for it to be in that shape. A responsible booster club addresses turfing issues so if it's bad and has been bad, raise the money and take care of it. I do feel for the kids and staff after being told they were getting it and then being denied. That's uncool. However, if you can win it all without it then this changes nothing.

Can't make any excuses but it would've been different if all the starters had played. AND Montgomery County has a very good team. I'll be watching what they do this year.

Pulaski should be the team to beat. Southwestern has a really nice team and should make noise. It'll be interesting to see how improved they are once they hit the toughest parts of the schedule.

Somerset is just terribly young but I don't know that that this year's record will indicate what kind of team they will have. They will e ok come postseason barring any significant injuries. They have some good speed but not the size that some of the teams they will face. 10? Maybe too high like Jumper_Dad said.
