I found these quotes off another thread from other posters. Every Beechwood thread mentions her and every coach in the region must game plan around her, she still puts up numbers and could probably put up more if she recognizes she's open. The quotes above could be said about her every night.. -

39th District Tournament
JTrunick replied to RoyalWildcat's topic in KY Girls Basketball (High School)
14.Augusta (5-16): 3 of the 5 wins for the Lady Panthers have came against #15 St. Patrick. 15.St. Patrick (7-17): St. Patrick is struggling really really bad right now, winning just 1 game since the new year, in fact, the Lady Saints are 1-11 since January 1st. One of these teams moves on to the Regional Tournament. Yeah Blind draw..:thumb: -
Good Point.

Ally Johnson, Jenna Martin,Lexi Held, Saner (BooneCounty ) don't make your list. -
Much closer game then this score indicates. This was like a Ryle home game as their fans outnumbered Beechwood 2 to 1. The girls from Beechwood had no fan support what so ever and it's a real shame. Beechwood dressed 7 girls tonight and gave Ryle a lot more than what they expected.

39th District Tournament
JTrunick replied to RoyalWildcat's topic in KY Girls Basketball (High School)
Teams that make it to the Regional Tournament need to earn it!!! Play your way in, blind draw will allow a team with a less than 500 record make it into the Regional Tournament. The districts should be seeded, best teams move on. I would be ok if only the District Champions made it to the Regional Tournament. -
Any details or observations? Coach Houston does a nice job for been short handed, doesn't he dress like 8 players?

39th District Tournament

That's a real shame that this district tournament is based on a blind draw. The 2 strongest teams play head to head in the first round. This hurts the regional tournament, letting weaker teams advance. I would have liked to have seen both Bracken and Mason in the regional tournament. -

The coaching staff at Highlands must be shaking their heads wondering every night what team will get off the bus. -

Possible, but not likely to beat Scott. The Future doesn't look pretty either as this team has some big holes to fill next year -
NCC vs Holy Cross 9th Region All-A Final
JTrunick replied to frankdracman23's topic in KY Girls Basketball (High School)
They may only have 130 girls but they draw from a larger area than the other public schools. I believe both of these schools have had girls transfer in. This was debut to death earlier this year, so I'm not trying to open that topic but please don't cry poor little us when you are getting impact players transferring in and not having to sit out. I do have one question how was the girl from NCC allowed to stay in the lane on offense so long yesterday. I would like to say she was camping but she stayed so long it was more like she was on vacation a long vacation. Be interesting to see if that happens tonight.. If your a power in the 9th, expected to win you sometimes get a little help just my observation from watching a lot of 9th region games this year. -
NCC vs Holy Cross 9th Region All-A Final

Aren't the benches on the other side of the court away from the stands at Beechwood? How is it possible that you heard the coach talking to his player or a player from another team from the bleachers on the other side of the gym? Your statement above seems a little bit of a stretch that you could have heard any comments from the bench, I think your trying to draw the attention away from the player and justify her actions. I recognize that these schools have some history, it added to the atmosphere in the gym last night. The game that these girls played was one of the best games I've seen in a long time it was a true tournament atmosphere. That underdog energy carried over for Newport, those girls played inspired as well. The incident with the players refusing to shake the coaches hand was unfortunate, did it lack sportsmanship, maybe, I certainly hope that it is discussed as a teachable moment to that player. -

Igo doesn't play for either Holmes or Ryle for starters and none of the current players on either of those teams has played with premier in the past. IMO didn't think it was proper to endorse or mention an AAU program when talking about KHSAA teams. But since you have graced the thread with your expert and shallow opinion there is another organization based out of NKY that has done pretty well developing players. Contact someone with Premier and ask they will know who I'm talking about since they actively recruit their players. As for big tournaments there are a lot of them outside the EYBL, check out the USJN. I hope this leaves a lasting LEGACY with you.

Not the proper post for singling out AAU organizations I hope that this is removed. Premier is not the only organization that plays in big tournaments it's ridiculous to only single them out.. I thought this type of thing was frowned upon in the treads.... I don't think a single one of these kids on either team has played for Premier so it's funny you mention them. I do believe they will now since the shining stars folded into the premier program
