Shouldn't be that mind boggling. Boone county has 4 public high schools And where Boone Co High School is located they are landlocked. They will not have any growth. They will be down for a long time. It was expected and predicted. When Cooper was built that was the final nail in the Boone Co coffin.

What I'm hearing is the warming up wasn't as big of a problem as was the shouting from the players during warmups during the ceremony. If the SK players were shouting out their countdowns etc then that is bush league. Now as far as the game goes, I thought some said Scott was the best team in NKY after SK? Doesn't look that way now does it.

Yes and no. I don't know how many carries he had tonight but playing both ways is exhausting and even if he did catch Smith that play it would have been in the end zone so I give the kid a pass in that play. Now if he didn't play both ways then I might say something to him. As far as the rest of the game. Yes BW clearly was the better team in be field, sorry mex, but I would love to see the time of possession for both teams. Beechwood controlled the clock and it seemed every drive they had were 59+ yard drives. The score was a lot closer at the half than it should have been.

W/L should be a reason just as any other reason. So you think if a coach took over after Dale Mueller and Highlands went 2-40 in their next 42 games the coach doesn't deserve to be fired? Especially if the talent continues to be there?

Unfortunaltey when comments like SKNeer made are allowed on this site and then seeing who liked his post being the same person who has done the same in the past, well it makes this site almost unbearable at times. Seen more childish posts by people this week that it has forced me to stop in maybe once a day to see any updates of info for teams playing this weekend instead of spending a lot of time here.

Actually he did lead NKY in rushing. The Dixie game he played like the first series and then a lot of starters were pulled for 2nd stringers due to it being the last game of the season and district seedlings were already determined and out was a meaningless game. Not sure what injury he got. He has been hurt 2 years as he has played some varsity since a freshman. He broke his leg in the last game of the year against Dixie as a sophomore. He came back last year and led the area in rushing yds. This year he got injured. I know you don't like facts but there they are. Now what I find entertaining is any SK fan talking trash about any other teams schedule. SK has notoriously been known until this year as playing nothing but cupcakes most of their seasons. Let's compare schedules last year shall we? Cooper's opponents last year had a combined 98 wins. How many did SK's have? I can answer that for you. 84.

Again your Cooper answer is flawed. Ryle played 3 winless teams and Cooper's SOS was better than Ryles which goes against your reasoning for the rankings. Face it, there is no way of justifying these bad rankings.

Well again even if the rankings used what you described it shows even more how these rankings are flawed. Cooper last year had a better record than Ryle. Cooper also beat Ryle this year. So how is Ryle 2 spots ahead?

I need look no further than Ryle being ranked AGAIN in his rankings hire than Cooper.

I was always brought up with a belief my dad instilled in me. He always said if you want to be the best, then you have to beat the best. I never said Cooper Can't compete. I have no problem with Cooper playing in 6A and never have. I will tell you why. It makes for a much better rivalry with the other Boone county schools all playing in the same class. It also makes for a much better district having all the teams in the same area which goes back to my first reason about building better rivalries. Plus the fact that Cooper will Be 6A enrollment size soon enough so why not move up and take on the best in the state. The reason I keep hearing from those who lose sleep over Cooper Moving up is they would have won state this year if they stayed in 5A. Maybe I'm just not as biased as some but does anyone actually think Cooper would have won state this year if they were in 5A? If so then why in the BGP rankings isn't Cooper ranked above some 5A schools?

Dixie played in state title Game in 6A last year too so who is to say Cooper can't do the same in 6A.

This entire subject has nothing to do with the thread either, yet it was brought up.

So what. Isn't the goal of every team is to 1. Win district 2. Win Region 3. Win State Doesn't matter what teams are in the class when the fact is Cov Cath has less of a chance of accomplishing any of those goals listed in class 5A than they did if they stayed in 4A. Cov Catj doesn't have Male or Trinity in their class but they do have BG and Pukaski and even Highlands who they haven't beaten in ages.

It has everything to do with them if some think the reason Cooper and Conner moved up was to "hide" from CCH and HHS It also has to do with the same subject when the subject is schools moving up in class.

We didn't celebrate or campaign to have our teams move up. They moved up and we accepted it. It isn't like some would leave to believe that the players and fans are so upset about it that it's some sort of huge injustice. That isn't the case at all. For all those who think Cooper and Conner moved up to hide from HHS etc. it seems they play them anyway. For Those that think they should have stayed at 5A because they would win state titles the next 4 years before they have to move up anyway due to enrollment numbers then I ask where are all their state titles prior to the move? And lastly I ask why Cov Cath doesn't get the grief that Cooper gets? CCH hasn't done squat in 4A in a long time, not even a district title since HHS started their streak yet they don't catch grief for moving up to 5A when they could have stayed in 4A and actually won several titles in the next 4 years. They have no chance at all in 5A. They can't even win their district.

Not knocking my team at all. Just stating an unbiased opinion is all. You also know that Cooper's RB is injured and best dlineman among others also right?

Better threat than Cov Cath has at winning 5A this year.

They are ranked 6th in the state in 6A now and have as much shot at winning 5A as they do 6A this year. I think the problem is, is too many NKY folks don't know much about Pulaski and BG. I think they tend to underrate them. Cov Cath has as much of a chance to winning a 5A title as Grant Co does. Yet CCH is never called out on the carpet like Cooper relentlessly has been.

Looks like Cooper would finish the same place in a district with CCH and HHS as they did this year in 6A and that is 1st. I am so over this silly subject. It is so far beneath me.

That is first class deduction on your part I might add. Lets see, SK beat Ryle by more than they beat Cooper by and Cooper beat Ryle. That means Ryle is better That Simon Kenton education has paid off by the handful I see.

It's tough to say although they have won the last 3 games without him and that is including the game against Ryle. TCA last year led NKY in rushing yards. He started off this year with around a 200 yard rushing game against Highlands, he has been hurt most of the year with a dislocated collar bone and then the game he gets healthy for he goes out the next game on the 3rd play of the game with his current injury. So it's really tough to say how much better Cooper would be with a healthy TCA because they really haven't had a healthy TCA for most of the season. I will say his backup is pretty good too. In the rain and mud the other night J Jackson still managed around 164 yards rushing. The last 3 games J Jackson rushed for the following Ryle 48 yds for a 2.2 yd per rush avg Boone 118 for a 5.4 yd per rush avg Conner 164 for a 5.1 yd per rush J Jackson has been a great backup for TCA but something TCA always gave you was the ability to break a long one every chance he touched the ball. That can't be replaced.
